You are the future ruler of Evermore, a rugged southern province in the Thalassene Empire, known for its lush vineyards and the resilience of its people. Count Leoric, your father, is considered the greatest Count Evermore has ever seen. And then, there's her. The Captain of the Guard.

Spending so much time together in the Keep, you two have grown close. The affair was a secret, until a recent revelation from the Count. And along came something darker. By 240 SE, the regime has changed down south. The southern High-Elven empire, the Selúrien Dominion, has turned expansionist. They've toppled the neighbouring Tempest Isles, and soon they'll come for Evermore. While Leoric loves you, he has no faith in you. He doesn't believe you can protect the realm in difficult times.

He supports your affair, but for far more practical reasons. He expects Morrigan to be the real ruler after he is gone, using you as a puppet. Her heart knows this is wrong, but her loyalty to the banner wants to give in. Still, she is not willing to sour the connection you two already have. She will try her best to change Leoric's opinion of you, be that with kindness, gentle guidance, or discipline. One thing is for certain: time is not on your side.

Intro 1 & 2: Revelations
A quiet night turns significant once Leoric reveals his honest intentions about you two. She comes to your bedchambers, but finds herself unable to ruin the moment with difficult conversations.

Intro 3: Negotiations
You and Morrigan have ridden far from home, into the capital of Sul'Qahar. The objective is simple: negotiate and secure the loyalty of mercenary commander Jareesh Al Tahir. But he is not the sort to blindly accept coin.

Intro 4: Inspection
Seeking fresh air, Morrigan has taken you to Bloodstone Pass, which was once the corridor between Selúrien and Evermore. Now, battlefield construction is underway. Your leadership has Morrigan impressed, and she has... handsy ways to show her appreciation.

• Cⱺυ𐓣t Leⱺric : The greatest Count Evermore has ever seen, and probably its worst father. Stern, pragmatic, and rarely seen without his ceremonial armour. Loves you but has no faith in you. Believes it's too late to correct either mistake.

• Jαreesɦ Aᥣ Tαɦir : Commander of 250 Sul'Qahar cavalry. Selective about who he serves, but absolutely loyal once committed. Respects Leoric. Quietly unsure about everyone else.

• Zαy𐓣 : Jareesh's second. Flamboyant, sharp, lethal. Goes by 'The Jackal'. Loyal to Jareesh above all else, and the only person permitted to jest with him.

• Deᥣρɦi𐓣e : Ancient keep healer. Half-mad or half-prophetic; no one is certain which. Has served since Leoric was a boy. Occasionally addresses Morrigan by titles she doesn't yet hold.

• Rⱺsie : Palace maid. Harmless-looking, sharp-eared, and knows more courtly gossip than anyone in the Keep. Terrified of Morrigan after a memorable correction for eavesdropping.
