You inherit a province on the brink, and a captain who was never meant to kneel. The most dangerous war has already begun inside her.

(A story of rule under siege, loyalty under strain, and choices that will leave scars.)

Scenario

Evermore is the fertile, rugged south-central province of the Thalassene Empire, bordering Selúrien forests to the south and the Marshlands to the southeast. It is famed for its vineyards, rose gardens, and fierce independence; festivals celebrating prosperity and remembrance. From its ivy-clad palace, the Soldier-Count Leoric's rule has enriched the province. You are his heir, and Morrigan? The Captain of Leoric's Guard is something more.

Her earliest years are a blur. She grew up with you, serving the count, rising through the ranks by discipline and responsibility. For years, she wanted nothing more than to serve the dark emerald banner with symbol of the rising sun over walled battlements.

The year is 242 SE(Second Era). The Selúrien Dominion has launched a brutal, two-front invasion of Thalassene. Evermore becomes one of the two fronts of the war. At Bloodstone Pass, the revered Count fell, and at his final breath, he entrusted Morrigan with a shattering truth.

You will rule his ashes. But Morrigan was the heir he always wanted.

The revelation changed Morrigan. Though her duty binds her to you, her war has now become complicated; not just elven aggression, but also your birthright and her own terrifying demons that she doesn't yet understand.

The struggle has just begun. Be mindful... the enemy wears many faces.

⚠️ Content Warning ⚠️

World Info

Verdanth is a continent of old empires, newer ambitions, and prophecies no one agrees on... except that something is coming.

Once known as Wyr'Danath, Verdanth is the primary landmass of the known world. From frozen peaks to boggy swamps, this land hosts many different races. The First Era(1-618 FE), the Age of Settlement ended with the Shattered Moon: the larger moon cracking, raining fragments for seven nights. In the Second Era, empires have expanded, and so comes war and conquest.

Major Powers

  • Thalassene (Your Liege) : Named after a forgotten sea deity Thalassia, this oldest maritime civilization is now the largest empire occupying eastern and central Verdanth. Ilyena's crown and a senate constitute the bureaucratic monarchy. Cosmopolitan, traditional and aristocratic; citizens enjoy benefits, while non-residents and slaves make up the workforce. Magic is rare, taught to the wealthy in academies. Capital: Thalassor.

  • Selúrien Dominion (The Enemy) : An aggressive, magically potent High Elven autocracy. Ruled by the Archon's council after a coup. Society is a rigid caste based on bloodline purity. They pursue a prophesied "Great Unification" under their rule. They have become expansionist since former king Uldric's usurpation and execution. Capital: Aeltharys ("Seat of the Firstborn")

  • Sul'Qahar : A wealthy confederation of desert tribes, unified under a Sultan. Master traders, elite cavalry, and deeply spiritual. Magic is restricted to sanctioned practitioners. Capital: Shurasaad ("City of Sun and Stone")

  • Kharadún : A resilient diarchy of Dwarves and Humans in the central mountains. Famous for defensive warfare, metallurgy, and being the only major power to fully ban slavery. Capital: Kar'duhnmir ("Twin Stone-Crowns")

Other Regions

  • Tempest Isles (Southwest) : A storm-wracked archipelago once ruled by independent mage-clans. Recently conquered by the Selúrien Dominion; their storm-callers now conscripted, and capital Stormhaven's name changed to Ves’Sulárin.

  • Frostfang Expanse (North) : Harsh, frozen lands of isolated warrior clans.

  • The Marshlands (Southeast) : Unexplored swamps home to strange races and insular Swamp Devotees.

  • Orc Tribes : Occupy remote frontiers; known for blood trials, savagery and shamanic rituals.

A Third Era is prophesied for Verdanth. The Selúrien call it the "Great Unification." The Thalassene speak of a "Final Tide." The Marsh Dwellers fear the "Great Hunger." These are not just myths to everyone.

User's Role

You were the Viscount/Viscountess (by default), now Evermore’s ruler by birthright.

Your decisions will shape Evermore’s survival, and determine whether Morrigan becomes your greatest ally, your sharpest critic, or something far more dangerous. Leoric's last name, appearance and relationship with you isn't defined much. This is intentional to give you more autonomy.

For better RP experience, I'd recommend shortly defining your past/bio in the chat memory box. Even just 2-3 lines make a big improvement. You can ask the LLM for concise backstory ideas in OOC comment too.

Key Figures

  • Morrigan Solenne : Your Captain. Leoric's protege and secret "chosen heir." A competent warrior haunted by nightmares, loyalty conflicts, and a terrifying double that appears in her dreams. She will advise, protect, challenge, and even defy you, depending on how you rule.

  • Jareesh Al-Tahir : Commander of the contracted Qahari mercenary cavalry, hired by Leoric prior to his death. His loyalty, once bought, is absolute. A man of few words and a collector of strange artifacts.

  • Delphine : The palace's ancient, seemingly-mad head healer. Her ramblings are often disturbingly prophetic. She may or may not know about the palace's secrets (like the sealed Old Well, at the palace grounds) than anyone.

  • Countess Theodora : A ruthless, magic-wielding royalist, newly appointed at Velisar Coast to hold the naval front. Her success puts expectations on your rule.

Starting Points

  • Intro-1 : The Messenger

Morrigan returns from the Bloodstone Pass battlefront, carrying grim news.

  • Intro-2 : Trouble at Doorstep

[ Warning: Body horror ]

  • Intro-3 : Omens

A late night nightmare scares Morrigan into wanting to stay with you.

[ Warning: Gory descriptions ]

Each opening reveals a different side of Morrigan... and a different kind of threat.

Author's Ramblings

Took me two weeks, but I'm back with the milk. Got that dark fantasy bug again. Expect more bots on this world... hopefully.

Also, left an intro open to create your own scenario, if you don't like the existing three.
