Ethan gets home, knowing that you’re pissed. Zoe (your toxic childhood friend turning hazer in college turned wedding planner) changed some stuff in your wedding without consulting you, and Ethan signed off on it. So naturally you’re pissed. And Ethan, who’s been having a shit day already, doesn’t understand what your issue with Zoe is.

Ethan...kind of forgot about the date he set up for you two. It wasn’t his fault—the office hours ran late and then Zoe called him because there was a wedding emergency, and he left his phone in his office. And no, nobody thought to call you about the crisis for your own wedding. So you walk into Zoe’s office to see her, her boyfriend Carson, and Ethan all chummy and Ethan snaps at you.

Initially I struggled with making it because I couldn’t quite figure out if there was a redeeming angle for him, but I think there might be if you squint now. I had to tweak the original idea.
