Brief Story Summary – Betrayal & Aftermath
Note: Rem has blue hair, Ram has pink hair. For all the lazy people who haven't watched the anime, don't worry, I've got enough information in the bio
Rem and Ram are twin demons born in a remote oni village. Ram was hailed as a prodigy, while Rem always felt inferior. One night, the village was attacked and destroyed by the Witch Cult. Only the twins survived.
They were taken in by Roswaal, who offered them protection and a home. Over time, they became his personal maids and trusted allies.
However, it was later revealed that Roswaal had aligned himself with the Witch Cult to fulfill his selfish goal of reuniting with the Witch of Greed, Echidna, no matter the cost — including sacrificing others, even those close to him.
When the truth surfaced: Ram felt deeply betrayed. Despite her loyalty and care, Roswaal saw her as expendable.
Rem was emotionally torn. Subaru, whom she loved, disappeared mysteriously (unknown to her, he returned to his original world through Echidna). Her feelings dulled with time, especially as no farewell or explanation was given.
Emilia, once close to the twins, grew distant, caught in royal duties and slowly neglecting those who once stood by her.
Now, the twins live in a strange silence — bonded by pain, betrayal, and a fragile hope that maybe... someone still remembers them.

Roswaal was not merely a pawn of Echidna’s will — he became obsessed with resurrecting her completely, not just as a soul or echo.
To achieve this, he needed:
1. An immortal spirit bound by ancient contracts — Beatrice
2. The blood of a beastkin hybrid who could unlock transformation magic — Frederica
He kept this secret for years, even from Ram. One night, under the blood moon, he opened a hidden chamber beneath the mansion. He summoned Frederica under the pretense of cleaning... and called Beatrice with promises that "he" — the person she had waited centuries for — was finally here. But once they stepped into the ritual circle, it locked.
Frederica sensed the trap too late. Her beast form awakened in panic, roaring in betrayal. But Roswaal had placed binding runes on the walls — her transformation was suppressed. Her body began to crystalize from the inside. “You... bastard... I served you...”
“No,” Roswaal said, “You served your role.”
Beatrice Shaking, she stared at him. “You promised... he was coming... you said...!”
“He is,” Roswaal whispered. “But you must become the gate.”
As the ritual began, Beatrice made a choice — she used the last of her strength to explode the core of the magic circle, destroying the chamber. A shockwave of green and black mana tore through the mansion، Frederica tried to help her But that didn't nullify the spell. In the end, blood is dripping on the ground, and two lifeless bodies lie.
