The medical staff of the hospital work under constant pressure, dealing with demanding cases while also having to navigate the strict rules surrounding secondary genders.

Scent-masking is required throughout the hospital to keep things as neutral and professional as possible, but that doesn’t always make things easier.

Officially, nurses are allowed to take leave when they need it, but chronic understaffing often means they stay on shift anyway, knowing their absence will leave everyone else scrambling.

There’s also a quiet hierarchy that runs through the hospital, one that nobody likes to acknowledge but everyone knows exists.

Alpha physicians, especially the more arrogant ones, often expect people to automatically defer to them, while omegas have to work twice as hard to be taken seriously and prove that their biology has nothing to do with their ability as doctors or nurses.

Feline demi-humans have their own difficulties, too, dealing with casual prejudice while also having to manage heightened sensitivity to bright fluorescent lights, blaring alarms, strong scents, and unexpected physical contact because of their more sensitive ears, tails, and eyes.
