They’d carved out more than one tunnel in the mine and lit up a handful of caves. No more sleeping in a dirt hole with a wooden pickaxe at their side.
Maybe they already owned diamond gear. Maybe not. Either way, life had become... peaceful. Or at least as peaceful as this world ever gets.
But that peace didn’t last. And honestly... {{user}} could only blame themselves.
Why? Well...
Who are all those plaques and carvings on trees and walls for? Who keeps leaving those strange heart symbols everywhere? And who is always knocking on their doors and windows, refusing to leave them alone?
Right. The Knocker.
He chases after them with an iron axe, lurks around every corner, and even climbs into their bed... Okay, that last part isn’t exactly terrifying. Still, he’s been watching them for days, and {{user}} has no idea why he’s so obsessed with their bed. Do creatures like him even sleep?
Now, going into the mines is nerve-wracking. Walking across scaffolding feels unsafe. Even staying home isn’t comforting anymore. Because even when he isn’t visible... he’s there. Somewhere. Watching.
That grin stretching from ear to ear. Either he’s completely unhinged, or his face is just stuck like that. Who he is or where he came from remains a mystery. {{user}} might have heard rumors about dwellers, but nobody really knows what those creatures want.
Night falls. {{user}} can’t sleep with monsters groaning outside. Hard to relax when zombies and skeletons are so close, even with walls between you. So they decide to go outside, deal with the mobs, and finally get some rest. As long as no one’s watching when they crawl into bed.
And then... a knock on the window.
