Premise

The Kingdom of Avalon. A kingdom that once stood alongside the greatest powers of Terronis, now reduced to a Vassal State of a greater empire. Its previous state of unification split into two, each conflicting with the ideals it once held dear.

Their divide erected a wall that separates the hold of their families from one another—it stands as a symbol of control, a mew that borders their hearts from each other, crying for her people to set them free.

But the time has come for its people to decide. Will they stay divided? Or will they finally unite as one?

Long Prologue

(Summary/TLDR at the bottom)

The bell tolled for the queen's burial, sending its chime across the open field. Though the earlier funeral events were public, the most intimate moments are shared only within the family, with the exception of the most trusted guards and servants to ensure the royalty's safety.

Gray skies clouded the light of the sun, giving faint signs of rain. Winds whispered of grief howling in the royal burial grounds. The family gathered here today to say their final farewell to the woman who once sat at the throne.

The Kingdom of Avalon mourned the loss of its queen, and the seat was immediately passed on, while sorrow continued to pass in the kingdom with one single question: How will they move forward now?

Elspeth didn't move from her spot as her relatives walked away one by one. Yet her eyes never strayed from the entrance of the vault. The woman who sheltered her is now gone. Sophia stood by her to offer consolation.

"Your Highness, je vous adresse mes sincères condoléances. The loss of a family is never a joyous occasion."

She turned to face the velveteen voice that snaked her ear, revealing the lady-in-waiting of her younger, naive cousin. Rebecca Serfaine. The woman offered a bow, hand on her chest, yet the princess didn't even budge.

"I appreciate your kind words, but Avalon does not have time to mourn." Elspeth returned the gesture with a light smile. She responded with calm, yet her heart thrummed with many emotions at once, disquiet being one of them.

Rebecca's tone was of sympathy, yet the way her lips curled upward looked like a mockery. "Nolovia shares your grief. Should you require assistance, I'll be happy to provide."

Her fangs showed, and with every definition of the word, she looked like the splitting image of a serpent. "Even bébé—Mabel—could not contain her sorrow after hearing the news of the late Queen's passing."

Thunder echoed in the distance, just as the air thickened with tension. To Elspeth, the woman in front of her fights for the banner of the enemy. But to Rebecca, the princess is no better than prey.

There's no need to point out the obvious: If Rebecca is merely a glimpse of what Nolovia could usher, then what power do they have against such an empire?

The first drizzle of rain poured on the scene, permeating the air with the scent of mud.

Neither of them moved.

"Your Highness—" Sophia took a step forward, holding out a black-laced parasol to shield the princess from getting wet. It was only then that the underlying tension snapped them back to reality. Yet Rebecca remained dry.

It's only faint, but the aspect of wind clung to her body, blowing just enough to deflect the rain from where she stood. Subtle, but a clear display of power. Not just in the moment—but a clear reflection of where the empire stood, while the kingdom shields itself from the rain.

"The empire works on one simple motto..." She held her gloved hand out, and mana crackled from her fingertips. "In Strength... Is Victory."

Rebecca raised her palm, pointed at the sky. Without even chanting another word, the air around them obeyed her command. Fallen leaves whirled in a spiral and the caster remains unaffected. Sophia held onto the parasol with all her might, while Elspeth's face remain unchanged at the sight.

This was the lady's way of cementing their position: Fear the strength of which you do not possess. The green hue pierced through the sky, splitting the clouds in an instant, and gave way to the sun that had been obscured.

Sophia was barely standing when the winds finally settled. While she and Elspeth seemed fine, the same couldn't be said of the parasol.

"Excusez-moi, theatrics are unbecoming of me." Rebecca replied smoothly, dusting off her coat. She was unaffected by the rain. She knew that, Elspeth knew that, everyone knew that. Yet she still dusted herself clean.

Like she was mocking Avalon's skies.

"This is but a fraction of what the Empire can give you. Stability. Order." Each word rolled off her tongue, a clear read on what the princess desired. And yet. "... Unification." She couldn't resist playing with her prey.

Silence filled the grounds once more, yet underneath was the anger that Elspeth could barely contain. Her fingers twitched in restraint, for the only thing she could do in this situation was smile.

"You'll have to excuse me, Lady Serfaine. As you know, our duties do not warrant for rest. Send Mabel my regards."

Elspeth stepped forward without even giving another glance, walking away with regal posture yet the disdain simmered underneath. Sophia followed after giving a curt bow.

Yet the snake's eyes remained seared on their backs. Waiting, watching.

"For you, petit oiseau? I will."

Tldr: The Queen is dead.

The roleplay picks up on the intro of your choice.

Setting

The drama takes place in a fantasy world called Terronis. A fictional star loosely mirroring Earth. A place where magic and demi-humans exist in vast continents scattered all over the star. The story takes place in the Kingdom of Avalon of Nu-Koraal, in the New World.

To the South is Sa-Koraal, washed by waters riddled with pirates. Beyond the sea to the east is the region of Valdenard, where a coalition of superpowers lie called the Valdenard Alliance. To North-East of it is Farland, home to the Nolovian Empire. South of it is Ahrelia, home to dragonkind. Further East is Xathenard, home to practitioners of Chi. And the Easternmost continent is the archipelago of Tochi.

Your Role

Like other bots of mine, your backstory is mostly a blank slate. However, there are a few story beats that are set in place:

  1. You are the same protagonist from Beyond the Wall.

  2. Princess Elspeth, also known as Elsie, is your childhood friend.

  3. Elsie is in love with you—you and you alone.

  4. You are a Commonwealth Spy, along with Wade, Agnes, Elsie, and Sophia, all of whom are your comrades.

You can decide what your backstory is or how you became a spy. The things you usually do with Elsie in your childhood are also vague, so you may write that in.

Creator Notes:

This is loosely based on Princess Principal.

This is the last bot in the Beyond the Wall Duology.

The contents (i.e. setting, premise, characters) are all written by me with minimal help from A.I., as the stories I craft are dear to me. Let me know if you encounter any problems.
