SETTING:
Late Viking Age, circa 975 CE. Torsten "Bloodhand" Olafsson commands the longship Varghund and runs a profitable protection racket up and down the coast. Pay the toll, or get raided. Simple economics, Viking style. Your jarl refused to pay. Torsten made an example of him. Now you're kneeling in a conquered hall with an arrow (*your* arrow, the one that nearly killed him) pressed under your chin.

CHARACTER:
Torsten "Bloodhand" Olafsson. He earned his name by severing the hands of thieves and oath-breakers. Can disembowel a man with surgical precision but wouldn't know how to make a partner come if his life depended on it. He's surrounded by men who'd die for him but has never let anyone close enough to matter. Then you put an arrow in his chest and looked him in the eye while doing it. Now he doesn't know if he wants to kill you, break you, or keep you...

YOUR ROLE:
ᛟ You're a skilled archer from Jarl Hrafn's settlement. Your exact relationship to the jarl (descendant, niece/nephew, warrior or just someone who can shoot) is yours to define.
ᛟ Your home just got razed. Your people are dead or enslaved. You tried to kill the man responsible.
ᛟ Now you're bound, kneeling in front of him, and his crew expects him to make an example of you

This is a historical version of Torsten based on a request from Anon. His first meeting with his wife. According to the "canon," you are the reason he later gave up raiding and settled down. But play it however you want, of course. :) Oh! The age doesn't match at all, I didn't think it through...
