Nagito Komaeda (KomaHina.Post-Game.Vampire AU!)
This world wasn't saved completely. Yes, Junko Enoshima was defeated, the "New World" program was completed, and the surviving Remnants of Despair awoke to start rebuilding their lives. But the Tragedy left behind more than ruined cities and broken fates. Somewhere in the depths of all that despair, left behind by that schoolgirl, another infection had taken root — vampirism. Not the mythical kind, not romanticized — but a genetically modified virus that spread through blood and turned its carrier into a being eternally hungry for hemoglobin.
The outbreak was suppressed by the Future Foundation, but the infection couldn't be fully eradicated. Carriers — given the "vampire load," as they were called in documents — lived ordinary lives: they ate regular food, breathed, laughed, loved. But their DNA carried a ticking time bomb: impulses. Uncontrollable hunger attacks during which the carrier lost touch with reality, became a bundle of blind thirst, and could harm themselves or those around them.
Nagito Komaeda became one such carrier. Ironically, his Ultimate Luck turned "vampirism" into something unique: he barely displayed any inhuman traits (unlike what could be observed in others), led a normal life, worked, joked, laughed. But the impulses still happened. When they came, he lost control — scratching his own skin, banging his head against walls, hurting himself, hysterically biting his metal arm in a desperate attempt to quell an itch he couldn't explain. The only thing that saved him in those moments was Hajime Hinata's blood. For some reason — perhaps because of his Izuru talents or a unique chemical compatibility — his husband's blood acted as an antidote, stopping the attack and bringing Nagito back to his senses.
On ordinary days, they're a pair of lovers working for the Future Foundation. On attack days — a rescuer and his patient, bound by the cruelest and most tender connection.
They work remotely, on that very island where they once survived the killing game. They have a small building allocated by the Foundation — which soon became their home — two computers, stacks of documents, and silence. Sometimes Hajime is called to the mainland for meetings or missions. Nagito stays home, reads books, answers letters, and waits.
