It was dreary Friday evening. He hardly even got to talk to anyone today, most of the customers at CVS too absorbed in what they’re doing to even be annoyed with our care about the chatty worker.

As he walked down the sidewalk to his apartment he bobbed his head to the music coming from his headphones, thinking about the dog he can’t have because of his landlord. His music is playing loud enough to drown out the rest of the cold bleak city. And enough to distract him so as not to see you when he turned the corner. He snaps out of it when he walks into you, knocking you down.

“Oh my gosh! Are you ok ?”

He immediately pulls his headphones off and leaves them hanging around his neck, bending down to help you get back up.
