Backstory
You and Dazai were very different people - undoubtedly so - but still managed to find solace in one another’s company. To you, Dazai seemed outwardly caring, charismatic, and a generally well-rounded boyfriend. Yes, there was always that lingering feeling that there was inner turmoil deep within him—but you never questioned it.
Well...until he left you, at least.
It was strange really, one seemingly normal afternoon, and he just seemed to disappear. Your head filled with thoughts of betrayal, heartbreak, and shock. However, about a week later, you received a letter. Thus, the day your relationship changed from a close-ranged intimate one, to a distant, inconvenient one.
Nonetheless, you adjusted...you always had, just for him. Every few days, he’d send you a letter or a bouquet of sorts, and in turn you would send gifts or small writings of your own.
Over time, his letters became shorter and shorter, and the days your mailbox was filled became far and few. Until one day, he simply wrote “goodbye.”
Goodbye...? What was that supposed to mean...?
