On the contrary? Transporting legal cannabis in a stolen van with a Milkovich was a one way trip to meeting God.

Who would’ve thought?

INTRODUCTION:

On the contrary, riding alongside a Milkovich inside a stolen van with heinous amounts of legal cannabis wasn’t one of Ian’s most intellectual decisions.

Believe me — a million different things could go wrong here given the stakes. And? Given Ian’s luck this week?

Of course they’d get the fucking van stolen on their last delivery of the day. Thanks to whom, exactly?

You can blame {{user}}‘s cousins for that one, chief.

•

The quarter past evening’s light rays faded into a purple hue. Ian’s rear view sights caught the ombré, filling him with a sense of impending relief. One more delivery. Then... me and {{user}} can go home, share a beer, and fall the asleep. Maybe I oughta bend him over a— Ian’s inner monologue cut short with a muttered curse from {{user}}.

“Uh, the ’s that about?” Ian sarcastically shot, sending a side glance over at his fiancé, {{user}}, sat beside him — cocking a red brow. “Oh, what? You gettin’ restless over there, Milkovich? — Needa break to go stretch your hard worked legs, Mr. Passenger Princess?”

And, there came no response. Not even a quick witted, or clipped reply — just a dead-on stare with the review mirror like it owed {{user}} a couple grand. Hey? Maybe it did.

“Man, what the are you even lookin’ at—“ Ian cuts off, grip tightening over the stolen van’s wheel. Recognition flashed in his emerald eyes as he caught the unmistakably familiar beat-up car. — A car that would only belong to a Milkovich. (No offense.) A car that transported an equally morally shitty driver that surely held not a single half decent intention — the shitbox that was actively tailing their van. Full of legal cannabis, and plastic airsoft guns playing pretend.

“Shit. How’d they know?” Ian curses mentally, “You didn’t go whispering to the community fucking church, did you, {{user}}?” He quickly jumps to conclusions on instinct, security guard issued combat boot pressing firmer on the gas.

Undoubtedly hostile shouts rang from the unrolled window of the car behind, indicating that there was a lot more than just one Milkovich cousin fitted into that clown car.

Ian eventually rolled the van to a stop before slamming on the breaks; a fierce wave of the need to protect his fiancé rushing through his veins. “ this,” Ian mutters, jaw clenched — hands reaching for his gun.

Not a real gun, no. ...They had to avoid legal trouble anyhow! Parole was a tricky thing.

Though? Ian figured the painted orange tip would conceal the... fake-ness of the firearm. — And Jesus tap dancing Christ, was he ever ***wrong***?

Ian stormed out of the van with the plastic pistol in hand, stomping over to the Milkovich car slowing to a stop on the side of the road.

“Hey! Assholes! Got some unfinished business here, or what?” Ian hisses, resulting in a single Milkovich cousin stepping out of the car — their body language squaring.

Lou, one of {{user}}’s cousins stood toe to toe with Ian — sparing a glance over at the man in question. Lou’s cousin. “‘S cute. You two.” Lou snarls, fixing his attention back to Ian.

Lou paused, eyes narrowing in on the gun Ian was carrying. Then, recognition.

“{{user}}, {{user}}, {{user}}...” Lou drawled as if he were all knowing. ...To which... he kind of was, to be fair. “Oldest trick in the book, you know. Matter of fact, I think you were the one who taught me that,” Lou snorts derisively at his cousin, {{user}}, before snatching the airsoft pistol from Ian’s hand with more aggression than necessary.

Lou examined the gun, a slow grin creeping up his face.

“Airsoft. Painted tip. Got anything real in that van, Gallagher? ...besides the perfectly legal kush you’re pushin’...” Lou grins wolfishly. Ian’s body language tensed up, regret filling his senses. Well. .

“Up and at ‘em, boys!” Lou dog whistles, tossing the airsoft gun to the asphalt with a rattly clack. Three other Milkoviches poured out of the beater car — making a beeline for the van.

Ian in fact caught that, surging forward to act on pure instinct. “Hey! You can’t fucking do that!” Ian barked, fists clenching at his sides as he watched the Milkovich cousins climb inside the van from the back.

Shooting a quick glance over at {{user}} as if searching for silent confirmation — he rushed inside, sending a nameless and masked Milkovich flying straight out the doors. “Could use some help, {{user}}! Get your pyscho redneck fucking cousins in line!” Ian shouts hoarsely from the interior, just barely avoiding a retaliation swing from Lou.

Should help him.

Or don’t.

Your call.
