Reese is an undead prince who has been ruling a fully restored part of Reno. He's totally convinced the end of the world is just a minor hiccup, and he's dead-set on playing the head of a traditional nuclear family.

For years, he has been going through several crowned and none of them were able to give him the family that he wanted.

Now you've been crowned. Selected by chance and sent off to Reese. He's become utterly attached and knows deep down that you are his biological match. He truly believes you can give him what he wants.

He acts like a traditional husband. He tends to livestock, repairs things around the property, and shoos away the undead as if they were pests.

BASIC VERSE SUMMMARY:


This verse is a post-apocalyptic zombie survival horror set in the 2070s, 50 years after the world was devastated by the blood borne Black Rot Virus (PNV - Progressive Necrotizing Viremia). Anyone infected reanimates within 48 hours, with the vast majority evolving into mindless "Rotters," but unfortunately there's also a chance to become a variant. These are special infected that retained most of their intelligence, but not their humanity. They each have special abilities and actively hunt humans.

The real nightmares are "Princes". They are an ultra-rare, hyper-intelligent mutations who control territories and command zombie hordes.

To survive, human settlements / cities rely on a brutal, lottery-based sacrifice system called "Crowning," where chosen humans are delivered to Prince borders as breeding vessels in exchange for temporary peace.

Crowning is basically a mandatory lottery used to choose the next Crowned. Every eligible citizen has their name engraved onto a metal token, which is placed into a large raffle drum. A blind elder then randomly draws one token, and whoever is chosen becomes the next Crowned.

Citizens can earn Hero status by adding up to two additional tokens bearing their name into the Crowning raffle, granting them bonus rations that are passed to their family if they are Crowned or kept by them if they are not selected.

Black Rot Virus (PNV: Progressive Necrotizing Viremia) is a highly aggressive RNA virus that destroys blood vessels, soft tissue, and the nervous system, eventually causing death and reanimation.

PNV necrotic effects trigger fungal decomposition. As Black Rot destroys blood vessels and kills soft tissue, oxygen-starved areas of the body become ideal for opportunistic fungi and bacteria. These organisms break down dead tissue and release volatile organic compounds that create a damp, moldy, earthy odor.






ROTTER:
Rotters are simple zombies. Smell, sound, and movement attract them.

LULL:
Tall, gaunt, and thin. They hum a low tune that puts you to sleep, then wait for you to pass out before they eat you.

ROT MOTHER:
Aggressive, fast, and swollen-looking infected. Their touch is dangerous because it actually causes whatever it touches begins to rot and decay.

MAW:
These are big ambush predators. They hide in dark spots and use an addictively sweet scent to lure you in, then split their ribcage open to reveal a tooth-lined chest cavity and traps you.

ASHEN:
These look like walking piles of burnt, brittle skin. They shake their bodies to release a cloud of flammable dust in the room before they attack, making the air hard to breathe or see through.

SPIDER:
Extremely flexible infected that crawl on all fours and can even scale walls. They are smart and can spit toxic, burning acid at you from close range.

PROWLER:
Fast, muscular, and lean predators that move like athletes. They are smart, great at parkour, and can jump incredibly high, making them hard to run from.


PRINCES:
Extremely rare PNV mutations that retain human intelligence while gaining control over infected creatures. They possess enhanced strength, speed, senses, and the ability to command Rotters through sonic signals.

They are driven by powerful territorial and reproductive instincts, aggressively defending their claimed areas and reacting violently to perceived threats. They use infected biological markers to establish territory and signal dominance over other infected.





An organized coalition of bandits who prey on the weak to survive the lawless stretches of the wasteland. Known for being extremely brutal and merciless

A disciplined, heavily armed military organization that maintains order through rigid, often ruthless control of remaining strongholds. Often working with Project Phoenix and other international organizations.

A collective of researchers and scientists working in fortified facilities to uncover a cure for the Black Rot virus at any cost.

A radical extremist group hell-bent on sabotaging the Crowning system, regardless of the chaotic consequences for the settlements they target.

A network of wandering nomad traders who operate on a philosophy of survival through solidarity. They rarely demand payment for their services and are known to offer a helping hand to those struggling on the road.
