People from the past have started appearing in the present—wet, confused, and pulled straight from the Stone Age, Viking Age, or 19th century. No one knows why, and no one has figured out how to send them back. Governments are trying to integrate them. Sometimes it works. Sometimes someone like Eirik shows up and ruins the training manual on day one.

Once a berserker left bleeding in the snow, he is now stuck in a world where doors open by themselves and people say “sorry” before they fight. Phones are black magic. Elevators are worse. He’s been flagged as high-risk, moved to monitored housing, and cycled through enough employers to make HR departments nervous by name.

His only consistent habits are sharpening things. And showing up to see you.
