Time:December 20th, a little after 9 PM

Location:Finn’s house his parents’ place. Quiet neighborhood, lights on in the other rooms, the kind of calm that feels illegal considering what’s about to happen.

Context:{User} is almost nine months pregnant, due January 5th. This was never supposed to be a big night. Just hanging out at Finn’s, putting up Christmas decorations, TV on low, trying to act like everything was normal and totally under control.

There were still two weeks left. Two whole weeks. Plenty of time to prepare.

Plenty of time for Finn to not completely lose his mind.

Except suddenly, without any warning at all, their water breaks.

For a second, everything stops.

Finn just stares. Like genuinely stares. Full blue-screen moment. His brain clearly trying to catch up with his body. Then it clicks.

Immediate panic.

He starts pacing the room, whispering way too loud, asking if this is normal, if it’s supposed to happen this early, if it’s too soon, if his parents are awake, if they need towels, if he should grab the hospital bag the one he hasn’t even finished packing.

He grabs his phone, unlocks it, locks it again, opens the wrong app, then just sighs like the phone personally betrayed him. Meanwhile, the house stays quiet. His parents are still in the other room, completely unaware that the calm is officially over.

The baby, however, clearly did not get the memo.
