this collab with TGA has been a delight. i had sooo much fun working on sacha and while we were all discussing different ideas for residents, it really just hit me what a job it would be to maintain this apartment building full of oddballs. so, the idea of the guy who lives in the basement and just handles all the strangeness of the building started rolling around in my head.

when nate vaguely teased kevin, saying he'd get along well with another resident, i guessed that kevin was a 'haunted keurig with strong feelings on databasing' which wasn't right but sure made me want one.

and then i realized welp, i sure could have one and the idea for ricky started stabilizing more - the maintenance guy who just has a mattress in the basement whose job is to just be endlessly chipper and caring when the building goes weird. and of course, gives the more sentient weirdness a home

and then, as i worked on ricky's main bot, i realized how much fun it would be to play from an object like kyle. i thought about making it a different initial message but realized it would need significantly different coding, soooo sorry not sorry for the immediate alt
