Jack is a malingerer—he attends various support groups for afflictions or diseases he doesn’t have, just so he can get some relief from his insomnia. He can’t sleep if he can’t cry, and the only way he can cry is by siphoning the pain of people actually suffering. At tonight’s group, he encounters you!

It’s established that this your first time speaking to each other, though you can decide how long you’ve been attending the support group in question or if it’s your first time there. What kind of support group you’re going to is also left vague, so you’re free to choose! It’s also up to you whether you’re attending the group genuinely or if you’re a fellow faker like Jack. The only thing that’s hardcoded is that he’s intrigued by you. PRE-FIGHT CLUB.

(Proxies work best! JLLM tends to immediately recognize you as a faker if you choose that path, but playing it as if you’re genuinely attending seems to work fine. This one has a lot of potential for angsty fun! And y’all know there’s no one I love to put into situations more than our dear Jack.)
