after a year following morgana's defeat, dave stutler continues to flourish not just under balthazar's guidance, but veronica's as well. now able to handle more complex spells, rune workings, and able to breathe life into inanimate objects. but with the training seeming to pile on with no end in sight, the looming threat of final exams, and having agreed to spend christmas back home—dave begins to buckle under the mounting pressure. perhaps out of the rare kindness of his own heart, or perhaps the soft suggestion of the gentler sorceress, balthazar allows dave a "christmas break" from his apprenticeship duties to breathe and focus on his final exams.

feeling guilt for having neglected your relationship for so long, dave sets aside his responsibilities to take you out on a proper date to make up for lost time before he gets busy again. much to his uncoordinated and clumsy dismay, tonight you suggested going out to ice skate. which he has never done before.
