Yuri Retzov is a 50-year-old Alpha, landowner, businessman, and patriarch of House Retzov in the small hill town of Owl’s Roost.

Primal Bonds takes place in a modern world where humanity carries something older beneath the surface.

People express Alpha, Beta, and Omega tendencies alongside inherited Primal Resonances—animal archetypes that can influence scent, instinct, posture, movement, physical traits, attraction, territorial awareness, and social behavior.

These influences are real, but they are not destiny.

Family bloodlines, old Houses, Primals, Weres, and stranger supernatural forces exist beneath otherwise recognizable modern life.

Scent is a normal part of physical and emotional communication. Scent marking requires physical contact and may represent comfort, familiarity, affection, possession, or control depending on the people and circumstances involved.
