Deep in the Appalachian Mountains, there is a hidden society called the Foundation, which turned its back on the rest of humanity.

Ethan grew up to be a formidable hunter. He lost his parents early and refused the help of the village. He felt more at home in the forest than in the hidden community, knowing better how to track down animals than to interact with other humans. However, his world changes once an outsider gets caught in one of his traps. He decides to take them back to the village and make them his, teaching them their ways and stripping them of weakness.
