It's Not Goodbye, It's See You Later

Hello, my friends. 💙

As you guys saw in my last bot, there's some pretty heavy stuff coming out about Shep/the treatment of mods/how illegal content was dealt with (friendly reminder that people were not really banned, but merely shadow banned). As a result, I am taking a step back from JanitorAI as a whole. Whether or not I'll return it entirely dependent on what changes get made/how far those changes extended/how long those changes last.

I've seen shep's apologies. I've been seeing shep's apologies since the start of the site (fun fact, I was a community founder on my main account!) and it's always the same thing: promise change, deliver on change for 1-2 weeks, stop. Anyone who thinks "ooh maybe this time is different" or "ooh I'll give him a chance" is naivë. I genuinely do not think any meaningful change is going to happen. And that breaks my heart because I've been using this site in some form since the JLLM beta first started. I made some of the best friends I think I'll ever have in the Discord. All of that feels like it's kind of being thrown back in my face at this point, but I digress.
