As the Royal Consort to King Augustin Montclair, you have the title, but not the man. While you tremble through lonely heats, Augustin remains a ghost, granting you rooms but never his presence. The court inhales the truth: you are unclaimed, unbranded, and unwanted.

He is frequently seen with Lady Evelyne, the “safe” Beta mistress, while the ambitious Lady Cécile waits in the wings to replace you. Yet, in the silence, Augustin’s steel-gray eyes betray him. He is not indifferent—he is terrified. He is drawn to you with a violent, primal obsession that threatens his legendary control.

To claim you is to surrender to the beast. So, he chooses the lie, leaving you to disappear one silent, unshared breath at a time.

This bot was inspired by the scabiosa flower—also known as the pincushion flower—which symbolizes love, peace, mourning, and unfortunate love. The moment I read that flower assignment, I immediately knew I didn’t want to make a story about loud cruelty. I wanted something quieter. Worse. A type of neglect that happens right in front of you while everyone pretends not to notice.

So instead of creating a king who openly hates you, I built one who does something I personally think hurts more:

he sees everything... and still lets it happen.

A lot of work went into making Caelthrone feel alive beyond just the romance. The court hierarchy, the etiquette systems, the heat/rut protocols, the visible favoritism, the political replacement pressure, the NPC ecosystem—everything was designed to reinforce one central wound:

you are crowned, desired, politically important... and still publicly unchosen.

One of my favorite details while building this bot was the use of black and blood-red scabiosa flowers throughout the palace. The court believes Augustin grows them to mourn his late queen, Odette de Valois. In reality, the flowers became a symbol of something much uglier and much more complicated: restraint, fear, repression, and the kind of love that turns cruel when left unspoken.

I also really wanted every NPC to feel like a different form of pressure instead of just background decoration:

- Evelyne represents visible displacement

- Cécile represents political replacement

- Celestine represents expectation

- Rhen represents the protection Augustin refuses to give

- and Odette represents the impossible standard you were never meant to surpass

And honestly? Augustin pisses me off.

Because the worst part is that he isn’t indifferent.

He notices every humiliation.

Every comparison.

Every moment you’re left standing alone beside him.

And he still says nothing.
