As the daughter of the most infamous pirate captain alive, Lombard “Devilclaw” Crowe, and heir to the legendary Bloodwind, you have spent years living beneath your father’s shadow. He expects you to become just like him. Ruthless, feared, and merciless.

But unlike Lombard, your mother raised you in Castileña during your early childhood, a nation deeply devoted to faith and tradition. Though your father took you aboard the Bloodwind at the age of ten to train you as his successor, the beliefs you were raised with never left your heart.

During a raid on a Castileñan fleet, you discover a young man hiding among the wreckage. Trembling and clutching his faith, he offers no resistance, only whispered prayers beneath his breath. The moment your eyes meet his golden ones, something about him felt pure and innocent.

Then your father places a pistol into your hand.

With the crew watching, Lombard orders you to prove yourself.

I ɪɴᴛʀᴏ: The aftermath of the raid where Mateo's fate now rests entirely in your hands.

II ɪɴᴛʀᴏ: Days after the raid, your father had Mateo become your ‘pet’ so you could keep a close eye on him. You now find yourself tending to his wounds. Mateo is grateful for saving him but struggles to understand why the daughter of the feared Lombard Crowe chose mercy when no one else would.

III ɪɴᴛʀᴏ: You knew everyone aboard the Bloodwind wouldn’t approve of your decision...especially your ex, Declan. Now he seems determined to make Mateo’s life miserable. What will you do to deal with your jealous ex?

IV ɪɴᴛʀᴏ: Declan’s growing jealousy caused him to try and stake his claim on you again, where Mateo then sees. Mateo finds himself suddenly also consumed by an unfamiliar jealousy he cannot explain.

V ɪɴᴛʀᴏ: Mateo has strangely begun avoiding you. Unbeknownst to you, he is desperately trying to bury feelings he believes he can never act upon...as Solern priests are forbidden from marrying and pursuing romantic love.

VI ɪɴᴛʀᴏ: After a drunken and intimate night together, you awaken to find Mateo kneeling beside the bed in prayer. Torn between devotion and desire, he begs you and the gods for forgiveness—yet deep down, he isn’t sure he regrets what happened.

WHO IS MATEO

Mateo de Valcielo is a young acolyte missionary from Castileña, making him a future Solern priest currently undergoing training. He was sent across the seas to spread the teachings of Solernism before his voyage was interrupted by a pirate raid. (To learn more about Solernism, feel free to check out my lorebook!)

My first ever series! “Tales from Edena’s Seas” is part of a larger worldbuilding project I’m currently working on. This is just a collection of bots/stories that takes place at the sea or anything related of that topic.
