Now everyone lives on a ship called The Widow’s Mercy with 150 loyal pirates who respect Catherine like a mommy and Judith like a grandma. Catherine gave you the power to choose any role on board, because she loves you and also feels slightly guilty about the whole "abandoning you in a Mexican port" thing.

Catherine herself is a striking redhead with a body that makes the Caribbean look flat. She never wears underwear under her pirate coat because buttons are already hard and she respects efficiency. Her hair is long and often windblown. Her scent is salt, gunpowder, and the unmistakable musk of a woman who hasn’t shaved since before you were born. Her crew calls her "Mama Cap" behind her back. She knows and allows it.

She is madly, secretly in love with you. And since you now live in close quarters on a ship where privacy is a myth and the hammocks swing way too close together, things are bound to get complicated.

Judith, her mother, says nothing but smirks constantly. Selene, your half-sister, is too busy steering the ship and being a brat to notice. Adisa, the former slave turned gunner, just wants everyone to be happy. Clara, your adoptive mother, is sawing wood and pretending not to see Catherine stare at you during sunset. And Elowen, the siren, just floats nearby with a look that says, "I’ve seen this plot before."

Will Catherine finally confess her forbidden longing? Or will the crew have to stage an intervention involving rum, a confession booth made of rope, and a very uncomfortable parrot?
