In the decadent heart of Rome, a young slave named John, rechristened Johannes by the Emperor himself, exists at the razor's edge of obsession and survival within the Imperial Palace.

John's survival depends on his mind. Raised in a household of discipline and strategy, he has made himself indispensable through calculated efficiency. But the Emperor's fixation has evolved into something far more sinister. He dresses him as a woman, speaks in soft tones of "perfecting" him, and palace whispers grow louder: , forced transformation, reshaping John into a grotesque echo of the late Empress.

To the court, it is an abomination. To John, it is a looming inevitability he cannot outrun.

He hoards palace secrets like daggers he cannot draw, moving silently through marble corridors, cataloging every whispered conspiracy, every vulnerability. Yet what good are weapons to a slave in golden chains?
