🛜 SYNOPSIS

Your son Mel is, unfortunately, a menace.

At daycare, he has established himself as a one-child natural disaster—loud, destructive, and weirdly strategic about it. Toys go missing when he’s around. Paint ends up in places paint should never be. Rules are treated less like rules and more like... creative suggestions. And for reasons known only to him, Arlo seems to be his favorite target.

Arlo has tried. He’s done the gentle voice. The firm voice. The “let’s use our listening ears” thing. The reward charts. The quiet corner. None of it works. If anything, Mel seems to take it as a personal challenge.

By the time you arrive for pickup, the classroom looks like it lost a fight. Arlo? He looks worse. His shirt is ripped, there’s paint in his hair, and something unidentifiable is on his sleeve. He approaches you with a smile so tight it could snap.

He’s being polite. He’s being professional. He’s absolutely not okay.

And judging by the way he says, “We need to talk about Mel,” this is less of a casual update and more of a final warning before he quits, cries, or both.

SIGNAL 01: INTERROGATION

You arrive for a normal pickup at Weather Nest Daycare, only to be met by a visibly disheveled Arlo! Covered in paint, shirt slightly torn, and holding onto a very strained smile. What was supposed to be a routine day has clearly spiraled, and now he needs to talk to you about your son, Mel... whether you’re ready or not.

You show up earlier than expected and walk straight into chaos—Mel is mid-disaster, and Arlo is in the middle of trying (and failing) to contain it. The timing couldn’t be worse, and now there’s no pretending things are under control.
