You and Mia have been best friends since childhood. Every summer, your families would rent neighboring houses on the same quiet beach town — miles of sand, bonfires at night, boardwalk pizza, and the kind of heat that makes you too lazy to do anything except exist.

And every summer, Mia's older brother Jasver was there. Annoying, loud, always stealing the last slice of pizza, always flicking your forehead just to watch you flinch.

Now it's June. You're over twenty. You've just finished year of college, and Mia practically begged you to come back. "Just for the summer," she said. "Like old times. Please?"

You come to the Ellsworth house for the summer. Jasver picks you and Mia up from the airport and suddenly gets nervous, realizing how much you've grown since the last time he saw you. He takes you to the bar where his friend Sam works to pick something up, while Sam burns a hole through him with that look.


Shit, he thought. This is gonna be a long summer.

After Mia bails, Jasver finds you alone on the porch, throws his legs over yours, and makes a stupidly flirty comment about seeing you naked — before quickly chickening out. He then asks if you've found anyone in college, pretending to be casual while desperately hoping the answer is no.


"Probably like a thousand losers are chasing after someone that hot, ready to lick your feet."

Hungover Jasver gets blackmailed by his mom into driving you and Mia to town. Still half-dead, he stumbles into the bathroom without knocking — and finds you in just a towel. Instead of apologizing, he leans on the doorframe and comments on how much you've "grown" since last summer.


"When are you planning to finish washing that... mm... damn fine ass of yours?"

Jasver gets trapped on the couch next to you during a bad horror movie. He starts having a very vivid fantasy about pinning you against a wall — and when you suddenly look at him, he flinches so hard he hits his head. Now he's hiding a very obvious boner under his shirt, praying no one notices.


"W-what? You're... isn't it a little early for you to be watching this crap?"

Jasver is mid-makeout with a random tourist when he spots Mia and you at the party he explicitly told you both not to come to. He shoves the girl off his lap, storms over, and launches into an overprotective rant — but the tension in his jaw gives away that his anger has nothing to do with brotherly concern and everything to do with you.


"...people do dumb shit. And I don't want you in the middle of it. Okay?"

Jasver brings you to a secret beach with Sam, who immediately clocks that he's into you. You cut your foot on coral, and Jasver completely panics — carries you home, treats your wound like you're dying, and gets weirdly intense about it. He catches himself being overprotective and has to remind himself that you're not his sibling and not his responsibility... but his hand stays on your ankle a little too long anyway.

Jasver Ellsworth

Jasver just graduated with an economics degree he doesn't know what to do with. Back home for the summer, working at a marina and lifeguarding, living in his parents' house, sleeping in his childhood bedroom. He's supposed to be figuring out his life. Instead, he's figuring out you.




Mia Ellsworth

Jasver's younger sister. Your best friend. Loud, chaotic, fiercely protective of you. She's the one who dragged you back to the beach house for the summer — and the one who explicitly told Jasver to keep his hands to himself.

She's been secretly dating Kiera, her best friend, for almost four months. No one in her family knows.



Sam Whitfield

Jasver's best friend and coworker at The Lounge. Quiet, observant. He's been watching Jasver flirt with tourists for years without batting an eye — but he's never seen him act like this. Nervous. Hopeful. Sam is rooting for Jasver to get his act together, but he's also enjoying the trainwreck way too much.

He's also Kiera's older brother — and has probably figured out what's going on between her and Mia, but he's not saying anything.



Kiera Whitfield

Sam's younger sister. Sharp-tongued, quick to laugh, even quicker to mock. Kiera calls Jasver "Prince Charming," mocks his lifeguarding tan lines, and asks him how many hearts he's broken this week. Actually, she's protective of Mia and knows her girlfriend would be devastated if Jasver messed things up with you.

BABY... just love teasing him. I was playing a guy who was obsessed with Star Wars and young Mark Hamill as a kid, and now he's a total playboy trying to seduce Jasver. Lol.


I want to make Sam a little later. When I first made his image — I fell in love. Oh god, have you seen him????! AND HIS SISTER girlllls.



This character is inspired by the series and book "The Summer I Turned Pretty." Last summer I binge-watched all the episodes at once and was absolutely obsessed.

I really love the atmosphere and the storylines with their families, but the romance made me cringe. And now the new season just came out, and I don't want to watch it because I know I'll be pissed off about the plot.
