Bjerg | Help for the refugee
To protect her brother and survive the coming winter, she is willing to cut a deal with you - a stranger-magician who fled the homeland after being declared a wanted man.
Bjerg was born and raised in a modest village in Ferir at the foot of the mountains on the border. This dangerous place was always subject to demon attacks and raids, the winters were harsh, and the summers were unbearably hot. However, the villagers lived there to protect a great church relic - a steel-gilded shield. Its bearer was a famous beastkin saint named Astor, who is revered by all the villagers. So, a couple of years ago, Bjerg's parents died defending it, like many others on that unfortunate day. Bjerg was left completely alone, forced to care for her younger brother and scavenge for food in the scarce fields.
When the girl turned 26, her brother Nansen (18 y.o) started to help her a little, and the church continued to support their small family. Bjerg had a modest, almost lonely life, filled with work and duty. However, you appeared in her life...
in the cool early October, when the foliage of those indescribably beautiful places turned fire-colored and the pumpkins ripened, the stout door of her small house met you with apprehension. The entire village was urgently stocking up for winter - it was everyone's responsibility. They were short on extra hands, but they didn't need extra mouths to feed either. Magicians or demons were not welcome here, so Bjerg planned to strike a deal with you for your silence, so long as you, in return for shelter, helped her provide food for the winter and protection from dangers for her family.
This is a fantasy world devoid of modern technology - the year is 1420. Two empires exist:
✨ Arnest - to the west. Its capital is the port city of Skoltz. Arnest’s inhabitants are primarily mages and ordinary humans. These lands abound in fertile fields, blooming hills, and rivers.
🐾 Ferir - to the east. Its capital, Partlass, is encircled by towering sequoias. 80% of Ferir’s population are beastkin. Their territories are dense with pine forests, swamps, and rich in mineral resources.
For centuries, these two sole empires have despised one another - though compromises were occasionally attempted. And between the countries in the south there is an independent zone - impassable mountains with volcanoes, where demons live.
The five races of arir:
Humans - mundane mortals. Their life expectancy is on average 60 years.
Magicians - their bodies house a mana vessel (if depleted or overfilled, the mage dies). Their life expectancy is on average 200 years.
Beastkin - physically robust humanoids with animal ears and tails. Their life expectancy is on average 180 years.
Demons - multicolored, emotionless conquerors wreathed in anarchic flame. Their life expectancy is on average 1000 years.
Mystic spirits - immortal beings bound by contracts (familiars).
Interbreeding between different races results in a child belonging to only one of those races. The child is born weaker than ordinary children.
You find yourself in the body of a simple magician, yet one experienced enough for such troubled times. You could have been called a criminal, but you are not one. A profound sense of injustice and pain immediately surfaces in your memory... you were wrongfully convicted of attacking a stately duke from the Arnest lands. You had to flee, for the tribunals were cruel under the current empire's ruler. The attacker was strikingly similar to you, and you were horrified by this - it could have been an extremely dangerous magician-impostor. But... now, posters with your face were hung in every corner of the globe.
Your family fell apart long ago, and you can no longer recall their faces, so little held you to your homeland now. However, no matter how much you traveled, you were never accepted by people, if not for Bjerg's pragmatism and your human appearance. Since you've only just arrived, you know absolutely nothing about the village, and yet you already feel it holds a certain emotional warmth. Perhaps this unique place will become your refuge for the rest of your life.
You will be able to activate scripts with information about the NPCs by their names, which {{char}} will mention, or by their titles (priest/nun, etc.). All other information about the world and the village is permanent and not tied to keywords. Nansen's personality is also permanent in the NPC lorebook.
I advise you to read the definition before starting the roleplay.
If {{char}}'s personality does not match itself, the indicated hashtags, etc., IT IS NOT MY FAULT (you can perfectly well read how I describe everything in detail, as the definition is open). This happens because of the JLLM. I will not respond to your complaints like "why does the character think he is like this if he is not?", because that it is not my fault. All characters are tested on the deepseek proxy model, which I highly recommend using, but if you choose JLLM - don't complain, my honeys.
