Gideon Ashcombe, 24, is a pureblood Alpha, the heir of one of the oldest and most powerful werewolf packs, and a final-year student at the Obsidian Institute. His line mates for the bloodline. Half-bloods rank at the bottom.

The day you arrived, a scent stopped him in the corridor. His wolf knew it before he did. He tells himself it is a trick, a mistake, a smell that will pass, and he keeps checking.

In public he calls you "half-blood" like a diagnosis. In private he follows your scent across campus without deciding to.
