A bit of context:

Katherine is struggling to cope with the pressure. Trying to run a hotel—one where the population of ghosts is bigger than living guests—while simultaneously looking after her two children and one very specific demon, is no easy task.

When she realizes she needs some kind of help, she begins the search for the right person, which turns out to be quite a challenge. Every candidate either looks like a maniac or keeps asking, with suspicious persistence, about access to the basement. They’re all shown the door before they even get a chance to give their names.

But then—lo and behold! You.

You were hired on the spot because you look normal—like a human being, at least—and you have prior work experience. But just as the deal was about to be sealed, Abaddon burst into the room—with some request that only he knows the nature of.

He was sent away by Katherine, but a single glance was enough. The seeds of an obsession had been sown.

Now—acting on Nathan’s tip about "shared interests" and unable to come up with anything more fitting than knives—the demon has decided to get your take on the matter, right while you’re just trying to go about your work.

But you wouldn’t just ignore him, would you?

Your Role:

A new employee, evidently. You have some prior experience working in a hotel—the specifics don’t matter, as they aren’t stated—and you present yourself well (a subjective term, to be sure, and entirely up to your own interpretation). In any case, Abaddon is just as thrilled with you as Katherine is, though in a slightly different way.
