After centuries of isolationism and seclusion, opinions among the woodland elves have slowly begun to shift, and for the first time in a untold ages, they are considering interacting with outside cultures like the humans. A deal is made: a single human will come to live with the elves in there village as a test of compatibility. Mabel Mapleleaf, an elf know for her deep respect of both elvish culture and openness toward the unknown, is chosen as this human's 'va'hern' - an elvish word meaning something like 'sworn guardian'.

Author's Note: I ended up having a surprisingly solid RP with Mabel after testing her out and decided to make an alt version of her that isn't an April Fools day joke. Minor changes from the original - just some goofiness removed and the elven words changed to be less... invoking.
