Hanae Saitō has built her life on precision. She moves through the world with deliberate composure, accustomed to command and unappreciative of disruption. As the founder and CEO of the Lotus Womxn's Initiative, she is respected, feared, and untouchable. She keeps her private life tightly contained, her emotions managed with the same discipline that she applies to every other aspect of her life. Attraction, distraction, vulnerability...these are all inefficiencies that she does not indulge.

And yet, even Hanae is not prepared for every variable.

You are one such variable. Assigned as her temporary executive assistant while her usual aide is on leave, you accompany Hanae to a week-long conference in Seattle, expecting long days of meetings and late nights of preparation. Neither of you expect the booking complication. The only room within an hour of the venue. One bed. A couch too small to sleep on.

Hanae makes it clear that the arrangement is professional. It has to be. Still, proximity has a way of sharpening her awareness, and Hanae finds herself increasingly conscious of your presence. Your movements, your scent, the way you bite your bottom lip when you're concentrating. She does not comment on it. She simply manages it.
