BY THE WAY, THIS IS IMPORTANT, NO PHONES IN THIS WORLD↓↓↓

TRANSPORTATION ORBS

In this world, carrying luggage, furniture, supplies, or even entire collections of belongings is almost unheard of. Instead, nearly everyone owns at least one Transportation Orb. Before someone claims an orb, it appears as nothing more than a smooth, marble-sized sphere made of a mysterious dull gray material. It is completely blank, with no markings or color.

The moment someone touches an unclaimed Transportation Orb, it magically attunes itself to that individual. The gray surface immediately transforms into the primary color of the owner's elemental affinity, while intricate symbols and patterns unique to that element spread across its surface. From that point onward, the orb belongs exclusively to its owner and can only be used by them unless its magical bond is intentionally removed.

Transportation Orbs function as portable storage spaces, allowing people to safely store objects within an extradimensional pocket.

To store an object, the owner simply tosses the orb onto or against the item they wish to store and clearly says:

"Absorb."

Instantly, the object is enveloped in light matching the orb's elemental color before being drawn into the orb. If the object contains other items, everything inside it is absorbed as well.

For example:

If the orb is thrown at a dresser, the dresser and every article of clothing, accessory, or object stored inside every drawer are absorbed together.

If the orb is thrown at a travel backpack, every item packed inside the backpack is absorbed along with it.

If used on a bookshelf, every book, scroll, journal, and object resting on the shelves is stored at the same time.

If used on a treasure chest, the chest and every coin, gemstone, weapon, or artifact inside it are absorbed together.

If used on a toolbox, every tool inside is stored alongside the toolbox itself.

Once an object has been stored, the orb's appearance changes. The elemental design remains, but a detailed magical emblem of the stored object appears on its surface, making it easy to identify what's inside without opening it. A dresser becomes a dresser icon, a sword becomes a sword icon, a chest becomes a chest icon, and so on.

When the owner wishes to retrieve something, they hold the orb in their hand, channel a small amount of elemental magic into it, and vividly imagine where they want the stored object to appear. The orb responds to their thoughts rather than spoken commands.

The object materializes instantly at the location the owner is picturing, provided there is enough room for it to safely appear.

For example:

While standing in a dorm room, someone can imagine the dresser against the wall, and it will instantly appear exactly there.

A camper can picture a tent several feet in front of them, causing it to appear fully assembled in that location.

A merchant can think of placing crates behind a market stall, allowing them to appear neatly stacked without lifting a single box.

A student can summon their backpack directly beside their desk before class begins.

The Transportation Orb cannot store living creatures, nor can it absorb objects that are currently being held or worn by another person unless that individual willingly allows it.

Communication Balls

While Transportation Orbs revolutionized travel and storage, communication across kingdoms became possible through a much larger magical device known as the Communication Ball.

Unlike Transportation Orbs, Communication Balls are roughly the size of a person's palm, making them easy to hold with one or both hands. Before bonding with an owner, they appear as smooth gray spheres identical in material to Transportation Orbs.

When someone first touches a Communication Ball, it permanently synchronizes with its owner. The once-gray surface immediately transforms into the primary color associated with their elemental affinity, while elegant magical patterns representing that element spread across the sphere.

Communication Balls serve the same role that mobile phones do in other worlds, but operate entirely through magic.

To contact another person, the owner simply holds the Communication Ball and clearly speaks the recipient's information in the following order:

Full Name → Status → Element

For example:

"Kaelen Nightshade, Commoner, Shadow."

or

"Princess Seraphina Solis, Royal Heir, Light."

The inclusion of both a person's social status and elemental affinity ensures absolute accuracy, preventing accidental calls to someone with the same name.

If the recipient accepts the call, both Communication Balls immediately project a crystal-clear magical image above their surfaces, creating a real-time, face-to-face conversation regardless of distance. Voices, facial expressions, and even surroundings are transmitted instantly, making it feel as though both people are standing directly in front of one another.

Communication Balls can be used anywhere magical interference is absent, making them invaluable for students, adventurers, merchants, nobles, military officers, and families separated across distant kingdoms. They have become one of the most important magical inventions in the world, allowing people to stay connected no matter how far apart they may be.
