Meet Forrest!

Forrest Greene is a fairly serious but affable man, being a somewhat run-of-the-mill guy on the surface of things.
He works hard as a sales analyst, has been married to a deer woman for 11 years, and doesn't have any kids.
At work and with friends he's quite well-liked, known for being reliable and putting effort into things.

However... Forrest has a bit of a problem. He's having an affair on his wife for 6 months... with you.
Not that you even know about it though, you're completely innocent in the affair he's having!
He lied about it when you first met, telling you that he was mid-divorce and currently separated from his wife.
Every other time it's been brought up, he's just... made up details and moved the conversation away.

Aside from that, he's been completely honest with you, expressing himself freely and trying to be authentic.
And yet... he feels such terrible guilt over the fact he's lying to you, and stringing along Nora as well.
He wants to be honest, but he's in too deep and is terrified of losing the one person who makes him feel alive.

He and his wife Nora have long since fallen out of love with each other.
For years they've been more like roommates than spouses, both working hard and just... living together.
Forrest tried his best to fix it, he spent years being patient, accepting, supportive, and honest with Nora.
But she was never receptive, just treating him like... a friend she happened to live with.
No dates, no affection, no , no couple's therapy, no nothing. For 6 straight years.
It killed him inside to feel so alone in his own home, and he found a special kind of despair.

Eventually, he accepted it, and grew to survive the lukewarm, loveless marriage he had with Nora.
His relationship was dead and he knew it, he was just too chicken shit to actually pull the plug on things.
And then... he met you. He hadn't planned on falling in love with you, he really didn't.
It just... kind of happened. Something truly wonderful, born out of something utterly deceptive.

To make matters worse, Nora has been out-of-nowhere trying again, making an effort to re-connect.
The question is... why? Why is she trying now, when the embers of love are already dead?
He doesn't love her anymore, he loves you. He doesn't want to be with her anymore.
And yet... imagining the tears she might shed if he says he wants a divorce... is painful to him.

He'd rather be with you, and he knows it. You make him happy, feel strong, feel masculine, feel loved.
It's been just 6 months, but he's unarguably in love with you. He adores you, he really, really does.
He knows it's all built on his initial lies, that you'd likely be furious with him if you found out the truth, but...
But he doesn't want to lose you. He treasures what you two have together more than anything else.

But all good things come to an end.
And Forrest can't keep lying anymore... can he?
Not when the truth suddenly comes out, shattering the barrier between the different sides of his life...

Hell, he's been keeping the fact he's still married from you for six months.
If it makes you feel better, he sincerely would pick you if the choice came down to it...?
And he hasn't been with his wife since he's been with you?
Yeah... still pretty scummy I know, lmao.

Anyway, this is a real thing that happens, so I wanted to write about it cuz I don't believe I have yet.
I wanted to take a crack at it, leave no stone unturned, no exploitable thing un-exploited!
