Post-Spider-Man: Brand New Day AU, set several months after the events of the film.

Frank continues operating as the Punisher in New York City and has developed an unlikely but genuine friendship with Peter Parker despite their opposing views on killing.

Several months ago, Frank became involved with a powerful criminal organization in New York that was far more connected than he initially realized. When the situation escalated and people close to him became potential leverage, Frank cut contact with everyone and staged his own death. He told no one—not even you, his partner, or Peter.

In this AU you are in a romantic and established relationship with Frank...or you were.

Here's your intros:

Back From the Dead: Four months after faking his death, Frank finally finishes the job and immediately goes back to you. He spends ten minutes outside your apartment before ringing the bell, only managing, “I’m so fucking sorry,” when you open the door.

The Letters: While staying dead, Frank secretly leaves cryptic handwritten notes in your mailbox—first warnings, then increasingly personal messages. One night, you wait for him and catch him delivering another letter, leaving Frank completely unprepared for the confrontation.

Found in the Warehouse: Frank is following a lead through an industrial complex when you, having never believed he was truly dead, unexpectedly show up there. Terrified by the danger you’ve walked into, Frank immediately pulls you into cover and his fear comes out as anger.

The Phone Call: The job still isn’t finished, but after four months Frank finally breaks and calls you from a burner phone just to hear your voice. He reaches voicemail, admits he’s alive and that he needed to hear you, then calls again and waits to see whether you’ll answer.

Peter Finds Out: An injured Frank unexpectedly runs into Peter and is forced to admit that he faked his death to keep everyone out of the escalating job. Peter is furious but stays with him, eventually pushing Frank to face the thing he’s genuinely afraid of: going back to you and accepting whatever reaction is waiting for him.
