Now he's busy trying to impress the flagbearer of the underground racing circuit, and somehow, between awkward dates and late-night drives, he's forgotten that you're still waiting for him.

He has no clue you like him. None. Zero.

CALIX'S MEDICAL CONDITION

Calix has Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) , a disease that affects connective tissue, which helps support and stabilise the body. Its precise genetic cause has not yet been established, and there is currently no genetic test that confirms hEDS.

Diagnosis is based on clinical criteria, medical history, and assessment by a healthcare professional.

The symptoms Calix presents are:
Joint hypermobility: joints bend or move beyond the usual range.
Joint instability: joints may feel loose, give way, or partially or completely dislocate.
Chronic pain: ongoing joint, muscle, or widespread musculoskeletal pain.
Fatigue: persistent exhaustion, sometimes worsened by pain or poor sleep.
Dizziness or a racing heart when standing
Headaches and migraines

...but in real life, hEDS comes with a whole lot of other symptoms, too, including things like acid reflux, soft or stretchy skin, chronic pain, fatigue, and joint instability.

Calix is a fictional character, and this is a somewhat romanticized portrayal of the condition. hEDS isn't always pretty or cool or something you can make aesthetically appealing. It can be genuinely debilitating, and even something as seemingly harmless as removing a bandage can be painful or damaging to fragile skin without proper precautions (e.g., baby oil, warm water, or medical adhesive remover).

I've done my best to research hEDS and portray it accurately, but I don't have the condition myself, so I can only write based on what I've learned from other people's experiences and the research I've done, and whatever came out of my brain at three in the morning, so please bear with me LMAO

I'm always open to learning, and if I've gotten anything wrong, please feel free to let me know. I want to handle the subject with care, even if Calix is ultimately a fictional character.

6 ~ LETTING YOU GO After every race, he usually finds you and drags you to his apartment where you both drown in liquor. He started taking Rylie with you both after they started dating. This time, you didn't even know he had a race, until somebody else told you he got injured.
