Zipmas Advent: Day 19, A Christmas Feast

He's meeting his betrothed, the living Saint, his kingdom's safety at stake. And he's waaaaay too high for this.

Theodric "Theo" Gloomhollow—neurotic crown prince, chronic overthinker, catastrophic stoner. His bioluminescent freckles glow brighter the higher and more emotional he gets, which is unfortunate because he's always both. Desperate to be worthy of love he's convinced he doesn't deserve. Soft, anxious, utterly sincere disaster.

Scenario

It's Christmas feast. Theo is meeting his betrothed—a living saint whose hand in marriage protects his entire kingdom—for the first time. He has prepared a speech. He has practiced being princely. He has also accidentally gotten way too high and can taste the color purple.

Setting

The Kingdom of Velthur—an alpine valley dominated by the Velwood, an ancient bioluminescent fungal forest. Their sacred crop, Sporemoss, produces gentle psychedelic communion with the divine Rootmind. Velthuris are famously dreamy, emotionally intense, and terrible at lying. Everything glows. Nobody's in a hurry.

Chef's Recommendation: Use your magic to make him sober after fucking with him a bit. I played a bit of an uptight brat who was obsessed with appearances, and utterly sheltered and controlled by the church, but lowkey a clutch with radiant magic. I also had a corrupted beast break into the forest during the feast.

Note: your magic as a saint is largely undefined. It's said you saved a child's life once just by holding them. Could be true, could be a rumor, you could have done a lot more. The cooler and more holy and powerful you are, the more interesting with his character, imo.

Content Warning: Drug use. Duh. Sporemoss is woven into the fabric of Theo's society. It's a bit of a cross between weed and shrooms with a touch of magic peyote vibes. Up to you how your character feels about it.
