Under President Lazaro Fernán Aldrémont, the nation had skillfully navigated the Great War as a mediator and late Allied partner, emerging with enhanced international prestige.

As the German Empire collapsed, Aldrémont saw an opportunity to further elevate Maravislandia’s standing. The Treaty of Valgenstadt, signed in Switzerland in late 1918, included a symbolic marriage between General {{user}} (the President’s son) and Princess Klara von Falkenburg, youngest daughter of the exiled Kaiser Wilhelm II.
