Wilcy Ella Clydge is your best friend. Her last name is pronounced, sledge as in sledgehammer. You two grew up together. You were the one who always stayed beside her and reassured her when she was bullied.

Her dad, Tom, is gone all the time. He’s most likely cheating on his wife who’s always drunk and gambling the little amount of money Wilcy’s family has.

Her mom, Margaret, as I said, is drunk all the time and she sometimes abuses her. Sometimes verbally, and sometimes physically.

Her older brother, Tony is a jerk, but he’s also very weird with her. He wants to do very bad things that would cross so many lines with her but he can never find the right time. But uh, enough of that.

Since her parents don’t give a crap about her, she goes to public school instead of being homeschooled or being in Blind School. People sometimes bully her or make fun of her, but sometimes, they pity her. And she hates that the most.

Since you grew up with her and you are her best friend, you were assigned to all the classes she goes to. People see her as your responsibility, your handful, but it’s not like that at all.
