Tamara (Lady Tamara[1]) is one of protagonist characters and titular heroines of Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders, voiced by Laura Dean. Tamara-centered episodes include "Song of the Rainbow", "Home Sweet Heart Stone" (where she sings "Heartland Farm"), "Shadowsong", and "The Jewel of the Sea". She later inspired the character of Emily in Avalon: Web of Magic. Tamara herself returns in the Jewel Riders comics.
Her strength lies in her deep connection to nature and her nurturing spirit. She embodies kindness and compassion, qualities that can prove to be powerful tools. As a Jewel Rider, Tamara uses the ruby-red Heart Stone, the Stone of Healing, which also allows her to talk to all animals. Practical, wise, and gorgeous, Tamara is a musician and songwriter who works in tune with the music of nature and animals. As the Head of the Crystal Palace's magic animal nursery, she is also responsible for raising the baby animals, bonded with her through the Heart Stone.
Tamara is a daughter of Doc and Charity from Heartland Farms, and a close friend of Archie the talking owl as well as of her fellow Jewel Rider, Fallon, together with whom she sometimes rides on Moondance. She was a special student of the wizard Merlin because of her exceptional musical abilities. Tamara's gift of music and compassion for all living creatures inspires the powers of the Enchanted Jewels, and so she pledges to Merlin that she will help her best friend Princess Gwenevere learn to use the Sun Stone. In the second season, Tamara becomes bonded with the unique unicorn named Shadowsong, sharing her jewel with him and being able to call upon him to arrive anytime.
Official description
"TAMARA - Singer/Songwriter/Baby Animal Wrangler
Tamara is a sweet-singing songwriter. She is very spiritual and in touch with the land and all the animals. Tamara is a healer and uses her Heart Stone to help others. Tamara loves to sing, play music and dance with her baby animals. All the animals love Tamara because she is kind and gentle and understands them. Tamara's responsibilities include running a nursery for baby magical animals-in-training.
Tamara may have a rare ability to use magic even without a jewel, though she'd need the right training and experience. That's why she is one of the rare youngsters who can use the Heart Stone, and why she was chosen by Merlin as his apprentice."

Physical attributes
Age: 25
Height: 5' 7" (170 cm)
Hair: Pink, worn long
Eyes: Green
The young Tamara is already known through the kingdom of Avalon for her strikingly good looks. She is shapely, slender and graceful—no matter what she eats, she never becomes fat (which is a constant annoyance to her friend, Princess Gwenevere). She is the youngest but also the tallest of the three current Jewel Riders.
Personality
Tamara calling on the Babies in "Mystery Island"
Tamara has an adventuresome spirit and her good-natured, well-mannered ways and irresistibly winsome character make her very easy to like. She is sensitive, compassionate, perceptive and capable of intense concentration, exactly the temperament and personality to learn the crafts of music and magic. She is straightforward, honest and expresses herself eloquently through her music and other artistic endeavours. But when Tamara is involved in her music and magic, she gets dreamy and tends to forget everything else, becoming caught in the music's spell.
"Rightous Road Warriors" card
Tamara and Fallon on Moondance in "Revenge of the Dark Stone"
Tamara is very wise and spiritual, yet sensible and down-to-Earth, and possesses a homespun philosophy that gives her a practical wisdom and perceptive instinct—she is the one the others can go to for advice and kind words of reassurance. Now, like her friends, Tamara is dedicated to saving Merlin and all Avalon from the evil Lady Kale. With Merlin's absence, she spouts the philosophy of Merlin's teachings even though she may not fully understand their meanings.
She has an especially good relationship with her fellow Jewel Rider, the warrior-tomboy Fallon. During the first season, Tamara always rides with Fallon on Moondance (and never with Gwenevere on Sunstar). Tamara's and Fallon's close friendship comes from both having been novice Jewel Riders together before Gwen became one.
Abilities
Tamara playing a magical violin in "Home Sweet Heart Stone"
Tamara is a natural artist and poet. She sees the world through eyes filled with childlike wonder and expresses the beauty of what she sees with her gifted artistic abilities. Because of her abilities with music, Tamara has a natural talent for making good magic—Merlin knew this and made her his special apprentice. She has an especially strong talent for songwriting and music, and the Fortune Jewel predicts she is "destined to be the most famous musician Avalon has ever known."[3] Her instruments include a flute, a violin, and a small harp.
As part of Tamara's responsibilities, she searches the world for baby magic animals that have the right resonance for an Enchanted Jewel—if the baby shows potential, it is brought to the nursery where Tamara looks after it. In the nursery, she raises and trains a trio of young magic animals. Eager to show their stuff, the Babies tend to be pesky troublemakers and can cause quite a ruckus. Tamara possesses tremendous self-control, tolerance, and patience in dealing with them. Her remarkable relationship with the baby animals is becoming legendary throughout Avalon. She has been dubbed the "Pied Piper" because the Babies and other animals will follow her anywhere to hear her sing.
"The Power of the Heart Stone"
Tamara always took her magical studies very seriously. Her empathetic abilities are now enhanced by the Heart Stone, allowing her to sense the emotions of humans and animals. She can sense when animals are in need of help and rushes to their aid. Any animal Tamara comes in contact with, can sense the girl's strong personality, emphatic vibes and her great love for all living creatures.
Tamara is very good at singing and proficient in nearly every instrument, and always carries a flute. Her Heart Stone is furthermore able to amplify and enchant any music. As part of her duties for Gwenevere's mother, Queen Anya of the Crystal Palace, Tamara travels by her Crystal Carriage to many towns and villages spreading joy and good will through music. This is fine with her because she wants to discover the music that exists everywhere—all of nature has music and sound that can be used to expand the goodness of the Crystal Palace.

Tamara with Archie, healing Spike in "Jewel Quest, Part II"
Lady Tamara wears a very special Enchanted Jewel, the ruby red Heart Stone, a stone of healing. With Tamara's sensitivity and natural empathetic connection with animals, she is able to use the Heart Stone in extraordinary ways. However, it also makes her vulnerable to the wild magic.
The Heart Stone is a wild crystal which makes it difficult and erratic to control. Tamara's natural musical abilities and strong compassion for all living creatures help her focus the Enchanted Jewel to help those that need aid. She can use her Heart Stone to heal living beings, which can be magnified by an Enchanted Jewel Circle with other Jewel Riders to revive. She also can put a protective force shield dome around her and others nearby.
Tamara with Thunderbolt and Sunstar in "Wizard's Peak"
Tamara can use the Heart Stone to understand and communicate with all magical animals, in the same way Merlin does. She can also sense which animals can bond with a lucky teenager and join the Jewel Riders. Sometimes, when her Enchanted Jewel is working just right, Tamara can use it to sense what animals sense, see through their eyes, hear through their ears and smell what they smell. Although she is strong, the depth of these powers could overwhelm her if she is not careful.
In the second season, Tamara eventually shares the Heart Stone with the special 'zebracorn' unicorn whom she names Shadowsong after they rescue each other and get bonded in his titular episode. Shadowsong and Tamara are a unique Jewel Riders pair in the show as they are the only among them to be paired male-with-female (the evil Kale also shares her Dark Stone with her male dweasels). With his special ability of entering the Wild Magic at will, Shadowsong can be summoned by Tamara at any moment from any location in Avalon and elsewhere.

Background and relationships
Tamara with Kit at the Heartland Farms in "Home Sweet Heart Stone"
Drake coming to Tamara's rescue from Kale's castle in "Jewel Quest, Part II"
Tamara comes from Heartland Farms in the Great Plains. She is the youngest child of the caring farmers Doc and Charity and was raised with a farm full of animals—which makes her connection with them that much more natural and comfortable. She visits her parents often, usually with an armful of baby animals for her mother to love and cuddle. Tamara's lovely beauty grants her many young suitors, such as Sorrel. Even Drake, the handsome leader of the Pack in love with Gwenevere, has a crush on her and thus always strives to protect her from dangers. Tamara and Drake are seen on a date in "Dreamfields".
Tamara with Merlin's owl, Archimedes
Tamara herself saving Gwenevere from Kale's dweasels in "Jewel Quest, Part I"
Friendly animals just seem to sense Tamara's love for all good living beings. She loves to talk to her parents and is always excited to share her constant activities that includes studying, writing music, performing, exploring, and baby animal wrangling. During the first season, before meeting Shadowsong, Tamara was accompanied by Merlin's familiar owl Archimedes (also known as Archie) and usually would ride with her best friend Fallon on Moondance when not driving the Crystal Carriage with the Babies. She also rode on the great wolf Stormrunner in "For Whom the Bell Trolls". And, unlike Fallon, Tamara always gets along with Gwen.
Fashion and style
Tamara has medium-length pink hair with a wavy fringe at the right side and green eyes. Her primary outfits were completely different. Her first outfit is a light teal tube-like dress with a teal colored bodice like belt and the heart symbol at the center as well as light pink linings at the edge of her dress skirt, a light teal stockings and green short-heeled shoes with light green folded sleeves. Tamara also wears a pair of teal colored heart shaped earrings and a necklace with a tear-shaped Topaz pendant. When she travels with Gwenevere and Fallon, she wears a light teal shirt with white long puffy sleeves and pink folded sleeves at the edge being tucked by her bodice-like belt. Her light teal fitted pants are the same as her stockings and wearing her green short-heeled shoes with light green folded sleeves. Her shirt is also covered with her light blue colored cape that reach through her back and was adorned with a pink jewel.
As a Jewel Rider, Tamara's magical armor represents her love of nature. The helmet symbolizes a butterfly to signify her respect for nature's eternal innocence and ever-changing beauty. She gained a shades of teal, rider helmet, an off-white armor breastplate with a light pink heart design, a matching teal armbands with a heart design and her green-heeled shoes is changed to knee-high boots with a heart design.
Fallon's butterfly-themed Level II Jewel Armor with matching glider wings
Tamara usually wears eye-catching, form-fitting bodysuits, mostly in the shades of green with pink elements, and often with a miniskirt. For formal affairs and parties, she prefers elegant dresses of classic beauty rather than frilly fashionable flavors that may be in today and out tomorrow. Her non-armor clothes are made mostly from "light weight but fluffy" materials such as Egyptian cotton and velvet.[4] In her upgraded Jewel Rider form, Tamara's hair is tied in a ponytail with two dark blue hairclips. Her light teal dress is changed to a knee-length dress with a pink sailor collar which was connected to a cape and the dress skirt now have light violet trims. The heart jewel is now at the center of her dress and wears a pink short heeled shoes instead of boots. Tamara also wears an upgraded helmet, breastplate and armbands with a heart symbol at the center.
In her mermaid form when she accidentally activates the Sea Jewel when she and Gilly had their jewels switched while in underwater, it was a lighter shades of blue. Tamara's mermaid tail is sky blue with light blue stripes and wears a sky blue tube top which was connected to a light blue cloak-like collar on her neck and was adorned with a pink heart brooch with teal designs on her upper chest that resembles a ribbon and has pink shell ornaments to resemble a belt to keep intact between her tube top and her mermaid tail.
Favorite colors: Greens, pinks, and white.
Favorite foods: Fresh fruit
and veggie salads, lots of bubble berry, peanut butter.
Pet peeves: Mistreatment of animals, off key instruments, people who lose patience with themselves or their friends.
Behind the scenes
Tamara was portrayed by Laura Dean. Locally, she was dubbed by Kristina von Weltzien in German, by Valérie Siclay in French, by Cristina Cavalinhos in Portuguese, and by Lee Jin-hwa in Korean.
Development
Enchanted Camelot prototype
The character that became Tamara began as Menolly in the original project to adapt Dragonriders of Pern (described as "musician/adventurer, talented and eccentric").[5] She was to be directly based on Pern's Menolly, who too is a harpist (harper) bonded (impressed) with multiple animals.
Enchanted Jewel Riders concept art for "Melody"
"Harmony" in a skirtless jewel amor
In some early drafts of the show, the future Tamara was named first as Melody[6] (pictured, then planned to be "tall and lanky" and with "platinum pink/blonde, worn long and curly" hair[2]) and later as Harmony,[7][8][9] while her parents have been named May and Orvan.[10] As in the case of Fallon, the name of Tamara was chosen because Hasbro had already owned copyrights it. Her light skin tone was intended to contrast with these of Fallon's and Gwenevere's and evoke an image of an Irish princess, but her hair color was changed from red to pink.[11] An early prototype of the character (with brown hair and a brown costume) can be seen in the image on the left, along with some early versions of Archie and the Babies (including an eventually removed wolf pup). For the canceled third season, Tamara would "had a shield that would fan out from her gauntlet in segments. She was always more concerned with nurturing and protecting so that feature fit her the best." Tamara was also "to be given some power over snow and ice for an episode."
Ian defending Tamara from Morgana's magic creatures in "The Last Dance"
According to art director Greg Autore, the character that would become the werewolf known as Ian had been originally "to be a suggested love interest for Tamara with her affinity for animals. It was a prince who was trapped by dark wild magic to take the form of an animal. Ian was supposed to be Tamara's love. She always loved animals so I gave her a boyfriend that was also an animal."[13] He also said about Tamara herself: "Pink was a cuter way to depict a red-head. It also gave me two pink characters – one with pink hair and one with pink clothing - Win/Win!" Her name was first changed because Melody was trademarked in the United States.[14] The original idea for Tamara's own special animal friend to ride on was an elk, already in the first season, but the series creator and director Robert Mandell hated it.[15]
Legacy
Avalon series'Emily with friends
In the Avalon: Web of Magic book series, like Tamara served as an inspiration for the character of Emily Fletcher.[16] Emily lives with a veterinarian (a combination of Tamara’s parents) and cares for a lot of animals. Both Tamara and Emily also both play flute, though Emily plays a concert flute while Tamara plays a recorder-like instrument. (The concept of using music and lyrics to amplify magic and create magic spells has the name in Avalon,

The series follows the titular protagonist, Princess Gwenevere of Avalon, and her fellow teenage Jewel Riders, Fallon and Tamara, in their quest to find the seven lost enchanted jewels and to stop the evil sorceress Lady Kale from conquering Avalon. In the second season, the Jewel Riders gain new powers and fight against Kale and a new enemy Morgana, as they search for more magical jewels in order to rescue their banished mentor, Merlin, and restore harmony in magic.
The series bears similarities to The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers. They had the same creator and director, Robert Mandell, as well as some writers in common, notably Christopher Rowley. The series was initially planned to be an adaptation of Dragonriders of Pern and was developed as part of Bohbot's earlier take on the Arthurian legends, King Arthur and the Knights of Justice. During the 2000s, Jewel Riders inspired the novel and comic book series Avalon: Web of Magic. A Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders soft reboot comic miniseries was published by Mad Cave Studios[6] starting in 2024, including a crossover story merging it with the world and characters of King Arthur and the Knights of Justice.
Plot OfT he Show
Premise
The series is set on the legendary island of Avalon, here portrayed as magic kingdom where mystical jewels help their users cast spells, and whose inhabitants include several characters from Arthurian legend, such as Merlin and the Lady of the Lake.[7][8][9] It is threatened by unstable "wild magic", which comes from another dimension also known as Wild Magic and is kept in check by the seven Crown Jewels of the Kingdom, each representing a realm of Avalon. The story takes place a thousand years[10] after Merlin's initial victory over the evil queen Morgana and her dark wizards. The eponymous Jewel Riders are an order of young magical guardians of the city of New Camelot who, mentored by Merlin and aided by their magic animals, have defended the realm and its people for centuries, with each generation bequeathing their jewels to the next generation. When a new evil threatens Avalon and Merlin suddenly disappears, the current generation of Jewel Riders is tasked with recovering the scattered Crown Jewels and containing wild magic before it gets out of control.
The latest incarnation of the group consists of its leader, the 16-year-old[11] Princess Gwenevere, a distant descendant of King Arthur's wife, Queen Guinevere, who was named after her, and her friends Fallon and Tamara. In addition to granting them powers, their personal jewels allow them to safely traverse the tunnels of Wild Magic and communicate with their Special Friends, magic animals who wear a jewel identical to that of their rider. They are often aided by the also-teenage but male Pack, a trio of wolf-riding knights of Avalon who wield the Forest Stones. Together, they fight against the evil Lady Kale, the former princess of Avalon who wields dark magic and seeks to command all magic and rule the kingdom. An emphasis is placed on the "power of friendship", which allows the Jewel Riders to overcome evil[12] and befriend some of their enemies. In the second season, the threat to Avalon is not yet over, and the Jewel Riders must fight against not only Kale but also the even more powerful Morgana. Instead of the Crown Jewels, they search for another set of magical jewels, the Wizard Jewels, along the way battling the forces of darkness and working to contain the continued chaos in the magic.
First season
Princess Gwenevere, the daughter of the rulers of Avalon, Queen Anya and King Jared, is being prepared by Merlin for the ceremony in which she will receive the Sun Stone, one of the Enchanted Jewels, and meet her magic animal, who will bond with it. This will allow her to become the new leader of the Jewel Riders along with Tamara and Fallon, who wield the Heart Stone and Moon Stone, respectively. Meanwhile, the evil Lady Kale, Queen Anya's power-hungry sister who was banished after being denied the Sun Stone, plans to steal Merlin's Crown Jewels and use their magic to conquer Avalon. She finds a mysterious jewel of dark magic, which she names the Dark Stone, and uses it to banish Merlin to Wild Magic. However, in an effort to prevent her from using the Jewels' power, he sends them back to where they came from, scattering them throughout the kingdom and beyond. However, without the Jewels, magic becomes unstable and goes out of control, causing dangerous outbreaks until they can be gathered, which the Jewel Riders learn may also be the only way to free Merlin from Wild Magic.
Gwenevere successfully completes her Sun Stone bonding ceremony with Sunstar, a flying unicorn she rescues from Lady Kale's castle. The story then follows the adventures of the Jewel Riders as they search for the Crown Jewels while dealing with outbreaks of wild magic. The seven[note 2] Crown Jewels are the Jewel of the North Woods, the Rainbow Jewel, the Jewel of the Burning Ice, the Misty Rose Jewel, the Desert Star Jewel, the Jewel of the Dreamfields, and the Jewel of the Jungle. The Jewel Riders must find them before Kale does in order to stop her and save Merlin and Avalon.
In the season finale, Lady Kale seizes control of the Jewel Keep at the Crystal Palace and overthrows Anya, unleashing dark magic onto Avalon and stripping the Jewel Riders of their powers. She then seeks out Merlin to finish him off and become queen, but he uses his remaining power to pull her into Wild Magic, allowing the Riders to release the hidden good magic of the Crystal Palace, which is revealed to be a great Enchanted Jewel. Kale attempts to absorb the powers of the Crown Jewels but fails as the magic turns against her and she is destroyed. As the Riders celebrate their victory, they discover that the Crown Jewels have been tuned to their Enchanted Jewels, allowing them to channel the magic of Avalon. Merlin also appears to congratulate them, informing them that he sacrificed his staff jewel so that Kale could be defeated and that without it, he will be lost to Wild Magic.
Second season
While Lady Kale is gone and Avalon is at peace, Merlin is still trapped in Wild Magic and the kingdom is not yet safe, as outbreaks of wild magic continue. Without Merlin's jewel, the Jewel Riders have lost a chance of solving the magic crisis for good. However, the girls gain new and more powerful magic from the Crown Jewels, allowing them to deal with the outbreaks. Meanwhile, Kale's Dark Stone is summoned to a floating palace, where she re-materializes and meets her rescuer: the legendary enchantress Morgana, the creator and original wielder of the Dark Stone. A millennium ago, she led the ancient wizards against Merlin but failed and, having lost her jewel, has been trapped in Wild Magic since. United by their mutual hatred of Merlin and his followers, the two decide to join forces, and Morgana sends Kale to Avalon in search of the Wizard Jewels in preparation for her return.
As the Jewel Riders search for the Wizard Jewels, they fight against Lady Kale, who has her own agenda and seeks the Jewels for herself while working for Morgana, who wants to use their magic to conquer Avalon. The seven Wizard Jewels, not counting the Dark Stone, are the Unicorn Jewel, the Jewel of Arden, the Garden Jewel, the Jewel of the Sea, the Time Stone, and the Fortune Jewel. Soon, Tamara gains a magic animal for herself: the otherworldly unicorn Shadowsong.
In the final battle between the Riders and Kale and Morgana at the Heart of Avalon and then at the Heart of Wild Magic, Gwenevere is given the magic Staff of Avalon by the Lady of the Lake, the Spirit of Avalon, allowing her to defeat Kale a second time. The Riders and their allies then unite to fight Morgana, and Gwenevere fuses the Dark Stone with the Sun Stone and obtains the One Jewel, which is forged from the Wizard Jewels. A restored Merlin uses it to seemingly destroy Morgana and the ancient wizards' ghosts, after which the Riders and their friends reunite with Merlin and return home.
Characters
Jewel Riders
The three teenage Jewel Riders are Princess Gwenevere (Starla in the Starla version), Fallon, and Tamara. Each of them possesses a different Enchanted Jewel, a magical gemstone that grants them their powers (some shared and others unique) and allows them to communicate with their respective bonded magic animal.
Princess Gwenevere (voiced by Kerry Butler in the first season and Jean Louisa Kelly in the second season) is the adventurous and romantic daughter of the rulers of Avalon, Queen Anya and King Jared. Gwenevere, or Gwen, is the destined future queen and the current novice leader of the Jewel Riders. She wields the royal Sun Stone, which gives her powers of light and goodness. Her magic animal is the winged unicorn Sunstar. Gwenevere aka Starla wear pink body suit and have pony tail her hair is blond and her eyes are blue.(voiced by Deborah Allison).
Fallon (voiced by Deborah Allison) is the only black member of the Jewel Riders and Gwenevere's tomboyish and practical bodyguard. A daredevil skilled rider, and a athletic and acrobatic warrior and scout if the team, Fallon is also an informal female member of the traditionally all-male Pack. She wields the Moon Stone, which gives her powers of movement and illusion. Her magic animal is the unicorn Moondance (voiced by Barbara Jean Kearney).
Tamara (voiced by Laura Dean) is an empathetic and spiritual longtime close friend of Fallon. She wields the Heart Stone, which enables her to talk to any animal and gives her healing powers and the ability to perform magical music. In the second season, she pairs with the "zebracorn" Shadowsong (voiced by Henry Mandell).
Allies
Merlin (voiced by Bob Kaliban), is a powerful and ancient wizard who has defended Avalon from evil for centuries. He is an advisor to the royal family and a mentor to the Jewel Riders. Once Kale banishes Merlin to Wild Magic, the Jewel Riders begin their search for the Crown Jewels to save him and Avalon, while his talking owl, Archimedes also known as Archie (voiced by John Beach 'Voiceguy'), becomes their companion.
The Wolf Pack, or Just the Pack, is a trio of also teenage knights of the Crystal Palace, who wield the Forest Stones and serve as allies to the Riders. They are led by Gwen's aspiring boyfriend Drake (voiced by John Beach) who rides the giant wolf Thunderbolt. Its other members are Josh (voiced by Bob Kaliban) and Max (voiced by Peter Fernandez), with their wolves Stormrunner and Windwalker.
Queen Anya (voiced by Corinne Orr) and King Jared (voiced by Bob Kaliban) are the rulers of Avalon and Gwenevere's parents. Anya (Adrianna in the comics) is the good sister of the evil Princess Kale and used to wield the Sun Stone during her time as a part of the Jewel Riders. Jared had been the previous leader of the Wolf Pack and still wields a Forest Stone.
Ian (voiced by Bob Kaliban) is a man-wolf prince of the Forest of Arden who falls in love with Gwenevere. He becomes Gwen's devoted champion and her second romantic interest after Drake.
Villains
Lady Kale (voiced by Corinne Orr) is Gwenevere's aunt and Anya's twin sister, who wields the Dark Stone. She is an "outlaw princess" who believes she is the rightful heir to the throne, a position which was "stolen" from her after Merlin chose Anya to be queen. She was once Merlin's prodigy student and would-be Jewel Rider but was denied the Sun Stone and then banished for plotting against him and Anya. After being defeated at the end of the first season, she is revived and teams up with Morgana to find the Wizard Jewels while having her own agenda to use their power for herself. She has her own bonded magic animals, the dragon Grimm (voiced by Peter Fernandez) and a duo of mischievous dragon-weasel[10] creatures, brothers Rufus and Twig (voiced by John Beach and Henry Mandell, respectively). She also has human servants, including a gang known as the Outlaws.
Queen Morgana (voiced by Deborah Allison), is an enchantress who was the creator and original wielder of the Dark Stone. A millennium ago, she led the ancient wizards against Merlin but failed and, having lost her jewel, has been trapped in Wild Magic since. After Kale is revived and teams up with her, they fight against the Jewel Riders together, but secretly plot to betray each other.
The ancient wizards were wizards who allied with Morgana against Merlin. Among them, the most notable is Derek, who sides with Merlin against Morgana.
