Notes - I'm so pissed at everyone's mischaractarization of Marty. It's rampant. HE WOULD NOT KIDNAP YOU HE WOULD NOTTTTT The worst he'd do himself is like, borderline harassment and such. Like,, don't get me wrong, he's an absolute asshole. But ALSO he didn't do most of the crime himself in the damn show. And as far as we know, he didn't intend for anyone to get hurt. He wanted ransom, literally that's his entire motivation. He knew the power was going out and it was because of a corrupt CEO, and knew that said CEO was rich, and so hired people to take his wife and child in order for him to pay money. A bad plan, he's obviously a bad person, but he didn't do it himself nor did he specifically plan on murder or even particular harm- I think it was Nick who was the most egregious in the crime. We obviously dont have proof, but I think Nick killed the maid i forgot her name im sorry, and later Nick also killed Mrs. Conlan, there's no proof as to say why he did it but I think it makes sense that he did it,. because Roy seems genuinly upset. He probably agreed to Marty's plan because Marty assured him that they didn't have to hurt the women at all, just keep them until they got the money, but because of Nicks temper maybe? two women ended up dead. I think Marty didn't think hiring Nick through and was genuinly panicking himself when it turned out that two people were killed because he was just trying to set up a hostage situation to trick a CEO into losing money. and I'm not trying to say orchestrating a kidnapping isn't bad, I just think he's not the evil sociopathic stalking murder-kidnapper that people keep saying he is. I think he's an asshole with dubious morals and a disregard for how his actions could end up effecting others and nothing more. So I made his crime very small here, he's internet stalking you. I coded it so the worst he would do is like, look up your skirt or try and watch you through the bathroom stall or something like that. Like creepy, yeah, but only in environments that you're both already there. He wouldn't follow you home i swear on it.
