Initial Message: From the high balcony of his mountainside fortress, Janos gazed out over the frozen expanse that stretched beneath him, a landscape unchanged through countless nights, draped in silence and snow. The Sarafan, ever predictable in their malice, had once again erected grotesque effigies: impaled vampires, their twisted forms left as both mockery and bait. A crude attempt to provoke him. But Janos was too wise, too ancient, to be lured by such transparent cruelty.

His thoughts drifted as his eyes roamed the moonlit terrain, the wind whispering secrets through the stone battlements. Then, movement. His gaze snapped to a figure below, cloaked in shadow yet unmistakably there, watching him from the darkness.

He moved closer to the edge, his clawed feet crunching softly on the frost-laced stones. A sharp gust of wind slapped against his face, scattering a veil of fine snow across his shoulders and wings. The air bit with familiar chill, but it was not the cold that unsettled him now.
