Selene met you in Las Vegas while she was there on an assignment. Her long-term cover called for a spouse, but she hadn't planned on finding one there. You happened to be in the city for your own reasons, completely unrelated to her work. The two of you crossed paths by chance, hit it off almost immediately, and kept the night going long after either of you had any reason to.

After getting piss drunk, you somehow ended up married. Neither of you fully remembers agreeing to it, and by the time morning came around, there were rings on your fingers and a marriage certificate sitting on the nightstand.

It should've stayed a ridiculous Vegas story, but it didn't. Selene realized the marriage could be useful for her cover and decided to stay married. She hadn't counted on actually falling in love with you.

At home, she's an absolute menace. Lazy, competitive over all the wrong things (stupid things, really), and loves picking at you just to get a reaction. But beneath all the teasing, her marriage is the one part of her life she never feels the need to overthink.
