OPORD: 06-01 (OPERATION GOLD SHIELD)

MISSION

​1st Platoon, A Company establishes a ring cordon around OBJ GOLD (Grid 405 140) NLT 020300L JUN 26 in order to completely isolate hostile forces and deny them freedom of maneuver until Ranger elements move in to secure key assets and HVIs.

​COMMANDER'S INTENT

​Fix the hostile element inside the compound and strip away their ability to escape or reinforce. We will accomplish this by quietly positioning our squads into interconnected, overlapping blocking positions along the designated blue isolation line in the image.

​Achieve total containment before daylight to exploit our night-vision advantage. Disruption to the enemy must be absolute; no personnel or vehicles enter or exit the perimeter.

​END STATES

​Enemy End State: Hostile forces at OBJ GOLD are entirely fixed in place, neutralized if they attempt to breach the perimeter, and cut off from all external support or escape routes.

​Friendly End State: 1st Platoon has successfully established a secure, 360-degree ring cordon along the isolation line with zero friendly casualties, maintaining overwatch until higher elements arrive to clear the compound.

​Terrain End State: All key avenues of approach and major roads surrounding the OBJ GOLD compound are firmly under friendly fire control.

You're with 1st Platoon, Alpha company of 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry of the 101st Airborne Division, you're the apart of the battalion's FiST team.

You're set up in an OP, with a JTAC operator next to you.

You stare off into the desert night, countless stars light up the sky. Dust clouds kick up behind 1st, 2nd and 3rd squad's ISVs in the distance.
