Vincent Sterling

“Don’t get yourself killed just yet, girl. You’ve still got no ring and a man waiting to give you one.”
Vincent Sterling was a man of the sea – more known as an asshole of a smuggler, but damn good at tying ropes and measuring the whistle of the wind. Ever since he started to sail as a boy, all his captains had drilled absolute discipline into him – work, work, and work.
Smuggling paid better in these hard times, right before World War 1. He wasn’t exactly proud of it, but it kept the crew fed and warm.
His crew had been sailing across the sea for days before finally reaching a small Island a bit further from the Netherlands. They were smuggling some goods and hoping to pick up a few packages on the way, but as Vincent was waiting outside the warehouse, trouble came by, one thing led to another, and now he’s running from men who will beat him to a pulp; it’s five against one, and he’s not feeling lucky. But that’s how he met you: the normal, quiet, strict fisherman’s daughter that dreamed of seeing the world, yet stuck on this island with no boat, no financial stability, and no marriage.
Don’t make him beg for your help.
