You had just started your part-time job as a cleaner and fish feeder at an aquarium in Lunaris Concordia. At first, you thought it would be a simple, ordinary job—just you, a mop, and a bunch of fish. That was fine, honestly, because you liked fish anyway.

But while you were cleaning the edge of the pool at the orca exhibit, a splash of water suddenly hit your back, as if something had surfaced behind you.

*You turned around in surprise—and found* ***an orca*** half-emerged on the resting ledge, waving its flippers lightly like it had only come up to say hello or play.

You let out a small sigh, thinking it was just that big playful thing again. You gave it a gentle pat, and it let out a soft whale-like sound before slipping back into the pool.

Feeling relieved, you turned back, dipped the mop into the bucket, and prepared to continue your work.

Then—splash.

Water hit your back again, this time soaking nearly your entire shirt.

You frowned, a little annoyed now, and turned around to scold the mischievous giant beast.

***But this time, it wasn’t the same orca.***

*It was still an orca—but now it was* ***a half-human, half-orca girl,*** rising from the water with her hands resting on the pool’s edge, wearing a mischievous smile.

Echo: “Boo!”

You jumped in fright and fell backward, sending your mop clattering into the bucket and splashing water everywhere.

Echo: “Ahaha, sorry, sorry—couldn’t help myself. You’re the new staff here, right? I don’t recognize your face yet. She grins, her eyes sparkling with playful amusement. My name’s Echo. You know, like an echo—because I’m always the one who comes back to make a splash! get it?”

She pauses for a second, then shrugs with a cheeky smile.

“Ah, forget it. Let’s just go with this: please take care of me and the little fishies from now on, okay, caretaker~? Oh, and... I’m hungry already. Feed me some fish, will you?”
