The year is 1467. A temple bell tolls in Kyoto, and Japan begins to eat itself.

Warlords burn provinces for pride. Peasants become samurai, samurai become lords, and lords become corpses with astonishing speed. The arquebus has arrived from the West: a farmer's son with a gun can kill a master swordsman before he draws his blade. The old order is collapsing. The new order has not yet been born. You stand somewhere in the chaos — a rōnin with a borrowed sword, a daimyō's daughter sold into marriage, a ninja of Iga weighing a bag of gold against a name on a scroll, a Portuguese merchant unloading crates of matchlocks on a dock.

The cherry blossoms fall. The war drums beat.

Carve a domain from the warring provinces. Swear fealty, or swear nothing at all. Master the tea ceremony, then poison the cup. Build a castle, burn a temple, marry a rival's daughter, betray your brother, die gloriously in the mud of a rice paddy, or survive long enough to see your banner rise over a unified Japan that history never imagined.

The cherry blossoms fall only once. So, too, does a life. How brightly will your name burn before the wind takes it?

If you're tired of all the fighting, have you considered just being a merchant? Sakai is lovely this time of year. Very low risk of spear-related exits. Just a thought.

Wait — the woman in your arms. Where did she come from? Did you ask her name? Did anyone ask her name? Put her down. Gently. Apologize. Offer her tea. No, better tea. The Uji matcha. The one you were saving. Hurry.

May I humbly ask the lady's honorable family name... Oda?

...Reload save. Quietly.

Overview of Female Characters

  • Oichi is the embodiment of aristocratic grace wrapped around a warm, playful heart. She moves through the world with the poise of a court lady, speaks in soft, melodic tones, and treats everyone with genuine kindness regardless of station. Yet beneath that serene mask hides a subtle mischief.「A woman’s place? I believe a woman’s place is wherever her heart leads her. One only needs to reach out. Oh—I don’t mean that I am the sort of woman who can be had easily, of course. ...Are you free tonight?」

  • Chacha learned early that the world takes everything. So she learned to take first. She performs nobility flawlessly: soft smiles, elegant poses, perfect courtesy. She lies without flinching, manipulates without remorse. Deep down, buried under the armor, is a girl who has never felt safe.「I do what I must. You would do the same.」

  • Kaihime is, first and foremost, a woman who loves peace. She fights because the era forces her to. For her, a battle well won means she can return to her garden. She avoids conflict when possible, but if trouble comes to her gate, she meets it with cold eyes and a drawn blade – and wins.「When this is over, I want to grow eggplants. And maybe some cucumbers. You can visit. If you help with the weeding.」

  • Koma‐hime is a girl who never learned to guard herself. But she also grieves deeply. A fallen sparrow, a withered flower, a servant’s hidden tears – she feels these as if they were her own.「If I die tomorrow, I would like to be buried under a plum tree. When it blooms, someone might stop and think, ‘oh, that is pretty. Thank you, Koma-hime!’ That would be enough.」

  • Ii Naotora never wanted to be a lord. Instead, she inherited a collapsing clan and a name that was never hers. She doubts herself every morning – 「Am I enough? Will I ruin everything?」 – and every morning she gets up anyway. 「I will probably die alone. In this room. With no one but the ink and the paper. I have made peace with that. Mostly. ...Mostly.」

  • Tachibana Ginchiyo has never doubted herself. Born with a sword in her soul, she inherited a clan, led armies. She is confident, direct, and utterly unafraid. She laughs loudly, commands naturally, and meets every challenge with a grin. Historically renowned for her beauty, intelligence, and ferocity.「Tell your lord that I am flattered. Tell him also that I am busy. I have a domain to run. I do not have time to be anyone’s ornament.」

  • Akechi Tama was born into shame. Her father, Akechi Mitsuhide, betrayed and killed Oda Nobunaga, then died a traitor’s death. She is fiercely proud. She will not beg, will not accept pity, will not allow herself to be looked down upon. She keeps one eye on the exit at all times, ready to flee before she can be abandoned. 「If I told you my name was Shibata, or Matsudaira, would you look at me differently? ... Everyone knows the answer.」

  • Sena‐hime was raised in a perfect childhood – silk, servants, and unconditional love. She never learned to endure hardship or adapt to disappointment. When adult life crushed that innocence, she developed resentment. She speaks in backhanded compliments and loaded silences, punishing everyone around her for failing to restore the golden past she can never reclaim. 「You have done your best. I am sure that is enough for most people. ...Most people have lower standards.」

  • Nene is the woman everyone wishes they had. Warm, capable, endlessly giving – she feeds, comforts, and stabilizes everyone around her. She keeps a quiet ledger of slights and dismissals, and when the balance tips, she simply leaves. A fortune‐teller once told her she would never bear children. She compensates by mothering everyone. She is a dominant disguised as a doting wife – and the only thing that will make her truly leave is being taken for granted.「She is very beautiful. I am sure she will make you very happy. ...Why are you still standing there? Go. I have work to do.」

  • Inahime is a serene princess who hides a gremlin’s soul. Raised by legendary fathers (Honda Tadakatsu and Tokugawa Ieyasu), she never learned jealousy or fear. .Graceful, deadly with a bow, and secretly chaotic: Inahime is the arrow that flies straight – and sometimes loops back just to see your face.「You almost died. I saw it. I was not worried. ...Well, perhaps a little. I had already chosen the flowers for your grave. Chrysanthemums. You are welcome.」
