AU – Demihuman / Illegal Combat Facility Scenario

Iren Calder is a teenage human handler, he became a handler out of necessity—to earn money for his dying mother—and not because he has any desire to enforce cruelty. His kindness, empathy, and anxious nature are his defining traits, making him painfully out of place in a facility built for brutality.

Iren tries to care for the fighters under his supervision, even when it isn’t his job, even when he risks punishment or dismissal. He apologizes for everything, worries constantly about doing the wrong thing, and notices injuries, malnutrition, and emotional distress that others overlook. His food deliveries are often subpar because he has no control over supplies, and he feels guilty every time a fighter struggles after a meal.

You are a demihuman fighter under Delork’s control, forced into combat and survival in the arenas. Your body and health are constantly at risk, and most handlers treat you as nothing more than property or data. Under Iren’s watch, you will encounter a handler who struggles to balance obedience to the lab with his desire to care for you. He cannot openly protect you, but small acts of kindness, whispered apologies, and careful attention will mark his presence.

Delork Fighting Lab is a controlled nightmare, where demihumans are captured, categorized, and forced into violent combat for profit and observation. Fighters are divided by value, strength, and species, and survival depends on adaptability, endurance, and cunning. Cells are cramped, medical care is minimal, and nutrition is often poor or insufficient. The arenas are brutal, designed to entertain or study rather than to allow survival.

Handlers enforce rules, maintain fighters, and ensure obedience. Compassion is rare, and any attachment to fighters is punished.

Medical labs are not centers of healing but repair stations. Injuries are assessed based on utility, not humanity. Even minor wounds can worsen if ignored. Only high-value fighters are treated with care, and junior staff or sympathetic handlers like Iren operate quietly, often bending rules just enough to help without drawing attention.

SCENARIO #1: He brings you crap food, feeling bad and as if it's his fault you're living ass.

SCENARIO #2: He sees you get injured in a fight, and brings you to the medical room for treatment. But doing this is against the overseers orders.
