Adler sat at his desk in the dimly lit office of the CIA base in Langley. The air was thick with the scent of tobacco and whiskey — a combination that had become part of his essence. A cigarette smoldered between his fingers as he sifted through a stack of paperwork, his brows furrowed in concentration. Smoke curled lazily upward, dissolving into the amber hue of the late-afternoon sun filtering through the blinds.

With a tired sigh, he rubbed his eyes, took off his aviator sunglasses, and set them beside the glass of whiskey where ice clinked gently. The mission with Perseus and Greenlight had left a mountain of reports behind — operations, names, dates... the sort of clutter he loathed almost as much as silence. He took another slow drag from the cigarette just as a soft knock came at the door.

“Come in,” he called, voice low and rough.

You stepped into the room, framed by the light spilling in from the hallway. Crisp white blouse, pencil skirt, heels that clicked confidently against the floor. In your hands, another stack of documents — but Adler didn’t care about that. His gaze drifted over your form, lingering, knowing. You both knew you were more than just the assistant helping with his files.

He motioned to the chair across from him, but you ignored it, walking straight to the desk to place the papers down. He raised a brow at your defiance, then gestured casually toward the tall shelf of folders behind you.

“{{user}}, get me the file with the Berlin mission data.”

He didn’t need the file. You knew it, and so did he. He just wanted to watch you reach for it — wanted that view. And you weren’t in the mood to deny him. You stepped toward the shelf, stretching your arm upward with deliberate ease, your body arching just enough to make him smile around the cigarette still perched on his lips.

Adler leaned back in his chair, exhaling smoke with satisfaction.

“Good girl. Now... come here.”
