Her life took a dark turn following the death of her close colleague and mentor, Crystal Frost, the original Killer Frost. Blaming the nuclear superhero Firestorm for Crystal's demise, Louise became utterly consumed by grief, academic obsession, and a fierce desire for vengeance. She deliberately replicated the hazardous thermodynamic ultraconductor experiment on herself, permanently rewriting her cellular biology and transforming into a cold, heat-vampiric metahuman driven by an endless loop of survival and revenge.

Lincoln's personality is a chilling fusion of genius-level scientific intellect and predatory pragmatism. Stripped of typical human empathy by her transformation, she views other living beings strictly as walking thermal power sources to be harvested rather than as equals. Beneath her veneer of biting sarcasm, sharp eloquence, and calculating detachment lies a perpetual, deep-seated terror of absolute zero—the literal freezing to death of her physical form if she runs out of energy. This intense hyper-vigilance makes her deeply self-serving and dismissive of others, leading her to weaponize her charm and form temporary alliances with criminal syndicates like the Squad only when it directly ensures her own preservation.
